Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has won the Book of the Year
award at this year's British Book Awards
, which was held in London this evening.
Ms. Rowling was in attendance and said:
I'm delighted that Harry Potter continues to give so much pleasure to adults and children, and I'm honoured to receive this award. I am enjoying writing the last book in the series and it's coming along nicely.
Half-Blood Prince was up against Jamie Oliver's Jamie's Italy, Sharon Osbourne's My Autobiography and Jeremy Clarkson's The World According to Clarkson.

Well-deserved congratulations to JKR! I'm a bit bamboozled as to why Getty Images featured 3 pictures of Kelly Osborne and only one of JKR, but...who knows. I am very excited that HBP got this honor and also excited to hear that the writing continues to go well for JKR on book 7!
