I'm delighted that Harry Potter continues to give so much pleasure to adults and children, and I'm honoured to receive this award. I am enjoying writing the last book in the series and it's coming along nicely.

Big Congratulations to JK Rowling on her win. It deserved to win "Book of the Year", I don't think other book had the success and hype HBP did, so I'm glad that it won.

Yeah, no way should the other books have gotten it. Nothing against non-fiction, but it can be VERY dull. At least Half-Blood Prince was exciting and had suspence. I highly doubt you'd get a similar read out of 'Jamie's Italy' or any of the others.

That is so amazing! As a creative writing major I understand how wonderful winning a major book award is (though not from personal experience!) and I'm so glad Ms. Rowling has recieved such an award. HPB definitely deserved it!

Not really unexpected, was it? Even I think HBP isn´t the best book at all I honestly couldn´t imagine there could have been an other book instead. Nowadays books become awarded by sales ranking not by quality, matter and theme.
