Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has won the Book of the Year
award at this year's British Book Awards, which was held in London this evening.
Ms. Rowling was in attendance and said:
I'm delighted that Harry Potter continues to give so much pleasure to adults and children, and I'm honoured to receive this award. I am enjoying writing the last book in the series and it's coming along nicely.
Half-Blood Prince was up against Jamie Oliver's Jamie's Italy, Sharon Osbourne's My Autobiography and Jeremy Clarkson's The World According to Clarkson.

Congratulations to JKR and HBP!! It's such a good read, so many questions answered, so many new questions arise! I've read HBP (and the whole series of course) many many many times, and I still cry everytime in HBP when I get to the Dumbledore being forced to drink the liquid by Harry! Everytime! It's so well written, so full of emotion, it's just bloody brilliant.

Jo deserves it. No other book has affected the world as much as HP this year, so whatever the haters want to say is fine by me. If they hadn't awarded the thing to Rowling, they wouldn't have been honest with themselves and the fact of the matter.

Well done JO. I am so glad that people are giving you praise for you books. They are soo wicked and I love reading them and learning so much about the wizarding world. Your books also make me wounder what it would be like if there really was another world out there what people didn't know anything about(just like harry in the first book). I also can't wait to read what happends to that loveable young HArry that everyone has come to love as if he was a real person( someone that we can all realate to). Book seven needs to come out soon because I'm going crazy waiting for it.
