Harry Potter actors Julie Walters
and Rupert Grint’s
film Driving Lessons
will be one of the many movies showed at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The festival runs from April 5th through May 7th and will showcase over 250 movies from around the world.
The synopsis of the film reads:
Ben (Rupert Grint) is a shy teenager living in London and trying to escape from the clutches of his religious mother (Laura Linney). He finally gets his chance when he meets a retired actress who whisks him off to Edinburgh, where he learns to drive, dance, and pick up girls. Brock's loosely autobiographical coming-of-age tale is a heartwarming treat.
The movie will be showing on April 30th, May 1st and May 6th, with tickets costing $12 each. Please go here
to book your tickets or to read additional information about the festival.
Thanks to Natalie for the news.
Also, thanks to Michelle for letting us know that Alan Rickman's film Snowcake
will also be shown at the festival on May 4th and 7th.

Hmm. It's hard to say if I'll ever see it. I get the feeling it's a movie that won't leave the UK or something. If it's released wide I might see it, if not I won't.

Well there goes another chance for me to see Driving Lessons in the U.S. because I heard that they were only showing in the U.K. but I wish they could show it in the U.S. but then again who knows. At least the Rupert Grint fans will freak out a lot to see it. I wish I could see it but I am in the Midwestern area of the United States which is Wisconsin and I can't travel to New York, it's too far away unless I enter some contest that could get me there which is the only chance I have in other words to see it at all.

Sounds nice, but I live several hundred miles away, as usual. Ah well.
I did click on the link for the Alan Rickman movie and that looks interesting too, not least for the cast combo of him, Sigourney Weaver, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
And... am I the only one who finds it funny that the director's name is *ahem* Marc Evans?! *laugh*
