Harry Potter actors Julie Walters
and Rupert Grint’s
film Driving Lessons
will be one of the many movies showed at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The festival runs from April 5th through May 7th and will showcase over 250 movies from around the world.
The synopsis of the film reads:
Ben (Rupert Grint) is a shy teenager living in London and trying to escape from the clutches of his religious mother (Laura Linney). He finally gets his chance when he meets a retired actress who whisks him off to Edinburgh, where he learns to drive, dance, and pick up girls. Brock's loosely autobiographical coming-of-age tale is a heartwarming treat.
The movie will be showing on April 30th, May 1st and May 6th, with tickets costing $12 each. Please go here
to book your tickets or to read additional information about the festival.
Thanks to Natalie for the news.
Also, thanks to Michelle for letting us know that Alan Rickman's film Snowcake
will also be shown at the festival on May 4th and 7th.

Ohmygosh I want to go see it. DARN DIGGITY! Oh wells. For those who are going, know I hate you and am secretly very jealous. But have fun! I guess I'll have to wait for it to come out, and then go see with with my Rupe-crazy friend. I hope she won't wet herself or scream too much, because it'd be embarassing. Although, if it was RP <3, I would be proud to do it.
And the movie sounds good. =)

All the way in New York?? Why can't they show it in Texas? Or any other state for that matter! Why is it always those well-known places like the U.K. and New York?? Is the movie even coming out on DVD so we ALL can see it?:(

Sounds quite interesting - perhaps a movie I'd like to see. I'd always interesting to see actors that we know so well in from big roles play a completely different character. I'm sure that so many HP fans will still see Ron and Molly when the watch the movie. I still see Han Solo and Indiana Jones when I see a Harrison Ford movie.
