Harry Potter actors Julie Walters
and Rupert Grint’s
film Driving Lessons
will be one of the many movies showed at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York. The festival runs from April 5th through May 7th and will showcase over 250 movies from around the world.
The synopsis of the film reads:
Ben (Rupert Grint) is a shy teenager living in London and trying to escape from the clutches of his religious mother (Laura Linney). He finally gets his chance when he meets a retired actress who whisks him off to Edinburgh, where he learns to drive, dance, and pick up girls. Brock's loosely autobiographical coming-of-age tale is a heartwarming treat.
The movie will be showing on April 30th, May 1st and May 6th, with tickets costing $12 each. Please go here
to book your tickets or to read additional information about the festival.
Thanks to Natalie for the news.
Also, thanks to Michelle for letting us know that Alan Rickman's film Snowcake
will also be shown at the festival on May 4th and 7th.

Wow, I hope that gets released for us little people soon. Seems like "film Festival movies" dont get out to us that fast. I think it will be a hoot to see "Ron and his Mom" as different characters. He is so cute.

I like when Rupert news makes it to non-Rupert fandom sites, because people are like I didn't know that Rupert did anything other than HP or I didn't know that Rupert gets out. Us Rupert fans find out things way before it hits the non-Rupert fandom sites. The Tribeca info is about 2 weeks or more old. I'm trying to get there, but everyone seems to have plans on the day I want to go. :(
I wonder if the same thing occurs with Dan and Emma fandom when it comes to a non-actor specific site. When Dan news comes on Mugglenet or HPANA, is it old news to the Dan fans by that time. Just curious because it amazing how you just assume that everyone knows about things (actor wise) that you know, until you read that some people didn't know that Rupert was even doing a movie. I've been following the production of this film since about February 2005. *sigh*
