We have been getting numerous emails that the release date for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been announced as July 13, 2007.
Dark Horizons
and BoxOffice Mojo have both published July 13, 2007 as the release date. Please note that Warner Bros. has made no official announcement, so please treat this as a rumor till confirmed.
Recently Harry Potter producer, David Heyman, said that he didn't know the release date but that it could either be the summer or winter of 2007.
Thanks to everyone who emailed.
Update: It would seem that many entertainment sites, including Rope of Silcon are jumping on the bandwagon and announcing the release date for Order of the Phoenix as July 13, 2007. Again, we are still awaiting confirmation about this and will be sure to let you know once we have found out anything.

Cool! That's quite soon. Just another year and a few months will be all it takes. I think I will be able to wait that long. However, I hope the movie will come before Book 7, because I want to read the entire series first before continuing on with the movie versions.

*Thinks* How can they have a reliease date, when they have barely started making the movie? Maybe I'm too tired to think straight, but didn't they start filming in January? or was it Febuary? Even so, they can't already have a Realise Date? Can They? Does anyone know how that works?

I was kinda shocked there for a second - I thought they were talking about book 7 - I totally ignored the 'OotP' by accident, then I was like 13th? Disappointment filled me - I was hoping for the seventh... then I read it again. I dunno, but wouldn't that be weird to have OotP and Book 7 released in the same short time span?

It could be that somebody got a calander and looked at the dates in July that are say Fridays, and maybe even compared what movie it would be up against on that date, a movie that already has it's date set for that day and is expected to be a big one, because that's how the movie industry works sometimes; they put movies up against other movies that they think is going to be big. too, which another rival film company is releasing. If so it would make this date a well thought out guess, that's my theory. I myself hope for winter 2007. It's funny, back in 2001 when the first movie came out I remember thinking that it might very well be 2010 by the time they finish these films, and it will be close I'm sure. Can you imagine that, it's already been five years almost since we started following the movies. It's so hard to imagine that it might be nigh on ten years before it's over; it will be so sad when it's all over.

imagine how sad it will be the actors? especially the kids who have never known anything of a movie family and it will be like the end of an era for them. The more seasoned performers have seen plenty of movies come and go ya know, so it prolly won't be as hard for them as for someone like Emma who hasnt done anything outside of HP
