We have been getting numerous emails that the release date for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been announced as July 13, 2007.
Dark Horizons
and BoxOffice Mojo have both published July 13, 2007 as the release date. Please note that Warner Bros. has made no official announcement, so please treat this as a rumor till confirmed.
Recently Harry Potter producer, David Heyman, said that he didn't know the release date but that it could either be the summer or winter of 2007.
Thanks to everyone who emailed.
Update: It would seem that many entertainment sites, including Rope of Silcon are jumping on the bandwagon and announcing the release date for Order of the Phoenix as July 13, 2007. Again, we are still awaiting confirmation about this and will be sure to let you know once we have found out anything.

Oh I hope it is in July, rather than in the winter. Then we can see it sooner of course! Also because when it comes out around in winter I usually only have a chance to see it once in theatres, it's always so busy around x-mas time! So I'm crossing my fingers that WB and Jk wll verify this shortly! : )

Yeah, I definitely think the movie should come out after the last book. I'd be happy with a November release for the movie, since I don't want the book and movie to come out close to each other. For now, just knowing it's in production and on its way is good enough for me!

As nice as it WOULD be to have a new movie that soon... RUMOURS have been known to be unfounded in many a time past. (Note the 07-13-07 date is still NOT 07-07-07) HOWEVER I will not believe a release date until either WB or Rowling mentions a date either in press or officially online, OR........ Heyman makes a statement for the movie.

Having the knowledge of business that I do, I would say that they may continue the trend of leaving sufficient time between release dates, to maximize profits. I think that if the movie comes out before the book, it wouldn't hurt profits, because those who will buy the book, would still buy it regardless. However, if the book comes out just before the movie, this would hurt movie products because many readers will be doing the all-day reading that they usually do. This, in turn, would hurt profits. Thus, I'm not excited at all for the prospect of a mid-July 07 OOTP release date because the book could not then come out on 7-7-07. Thus, we would either be left waiting for months more than we hope. Of course, it could me that the book comes our earlier in 07. And that would be exciting.

Oh wow! That would put the books speculated date (7/7/07) and the movie's speculated date EXTREMELY close together! The world would go into Potter Overload! ...not that I would mind so much. But...wow!

I, like many other people here highly doubt that book 7, and movie 5 will be released at the same time....
Although it would be nice if it was true..but that means a lot of frantic running around for lots of people....
