Last month we told you that Harry Potter actors Julie Walters
and Rupert Grint's
film Driving Lessons
would be screened at this year's Tribeca Film Festival in New York, which runs from April 5th through May 7th. You can now see a snippet
from the film on the festival's web site.
The synopsis of the film reads:
Ben (Rupert Grint) is a shy teenager living in London and trying to escape from the clutches of his religious mother (Laura Linney). He finally gets his chance when he meets a retired actress who whisks him off to Edinburgh, where he learns to drive, dance, and pick up girls. Brock's loosely autobiographical coming-of-age tale is a heartwarming treat.
The movie will be showing on April 30th, May 1st and May 6th, with tickets costing $12 each. Please go here
to book your tickets or to read additional information about the festival.

I wonder if the movie will come to the US. I don't think it will though. If you think about it you don't see movies where the actors have british accents, unless the setting is in britan.

I think Rupert acts very well as Ron but I never saw him in other movies. This will be an opportunity.

I think it's really good that rupert's doing something other than harry potter. that way he won't get tired of it and he would want to do it till the end.

I am glad to see that the actors aren't sticking strictly to Harry Potter. It's nice to see them in different parts once in a while:)

Whoa! Fun. Sounds like a great/funny movie. I would love to go see it. Rupert Grint is a great actor (though I think he swears too much!). Too bad it is $12 and probably won't be at a location near me. :'(

It is so refreshing to see Rupert in a role where he is the guy taking the chances. And being so serious as well! I am very familiar with his comedic style, but this is a whole new thing. How wonderful for him!

I watched a clip from awhile ago and both Walters and Grint were great in it. I think Rupert has a lot of potential and I'm looking forward to seeing it outside of Ron Weasley, who is rather one-dimensional in the movies.

Question! I don't understand what the girl says after he's read the poem. I know she says: "I'm sorry, but you're..."
Can anyone finish it for me?

I just watched to snippet, looks good. I'm not too fussy when it come to movies, I can watch just about anything, but I'll probably never get to see this one, not unless I really follow it, and buy it someday of Ebay or something, because I'm pretty sure it's not going to be openning Wide, as in like all over the world, and that really bugs me, because I want to see it. I like to follow the acters from the movies I really like. That includes the Harry Potter actors, doesn't matter how insignificant the actor, most of the time, and the The Lord of The Rings actors, and just about any actor I come across in any move I really, really enjoy. I'll watch certain movies just because they're in them and like those movies just because they're in them, most of the time.
