Actor Jim McManus
will portray the bit part of Albus Dumbledore's brother Aberforth in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, according to The Leaky Cauldron.
The unnamed bartender at the Hog's Head in Phoenix (who we later learn is Aberforth) witnesses the inaugural meeting of the student-led Dumbledore's Army there.

I have never heard of him and hope he does a good job. I am rereading the OoTP now and so far I think he was only mentioned in the pic of the old order. I will pay attention for any further mention of him. I wish there was a picture of him so I could see what he looks like.

For those of you who don't remember him in OotP, I think it's because it never actually says that it's him. I've read on other things that Aberforth is the barman at the Hog's Head, but I don't think it's EVER said in the books. There are clues. Like when Harry and the future D.A. met at the Hog's Head, I think Harry thought the barman looked familier. Probably because Moody had shown Harry a picture of the old Order of the Pheonix and Aberforth was on there. I just reread HBP, & it still didn't actually say that the Hog's Head guy was Aberforth. Harry saw him at Dumbledore's funeral but he was just called " the barman of the Hog's Head" So it never actually said it was him in the books.

It looks like I need to re-read OOTP because that could be a very important detail to know. Then again, Warner Brother's may have just added that in for dramatic effect or something.

Excellent! I hope this is true! I was hoping that they'd include Aberforth in it (sometimes wishes do come true!), because I feel that he'll be somewhat crucial in the seventh book, and since the movie creators didnt let the hint from GoF book stay in the movie, its about time they'd introduce him to us (not properly to Harry, though. Unless they change that detail in the movie).
Looking forward to hopefully WB confirming and seeing a picture of this actor.
