Well, the LC is usually pretty reliable, but I think I will wait to hear confirmation from the WB first. They usually put out something. I don't recognize the name, though...I'll have to look him up.

I saw a picture of him, he looks like he could play Aberforth Dumbledore. and once he's in his actual character, i don't think we will be disapointed.
I really want to see what he looks like because you don't hear from him much (Dumbledore only mentions him once in GoF ,i think)I'm really looking forward to it!

I, too, will wait for confirmation from WB on this. I was pretty excited to see that Jim McManus was in one of my favorite TV series, Horatio Hornblower, though, even if he was just a pawnbroker!

Wow!I was soooo shock to know that Dumbledore's brother is the bartender of the Hog's Head in OotP.I read the book three times already and as far as I can remember that Mandugus is the only person, who witness the DA meeting in the Hog's Head. And he is the one who told the other members of the order, that Harry is forming the DA.This is the one part I remember that happened in OotP.

I don't remember that either Mad_eye_muggle. Like I think the general concensus is, I think this guy is going to end up having a bigger role than just a moment in this movie. Oh well, we'll see.

Hmm i dont even remember reading about him in OOTP, maybe he has some significance to later movies, i dont know just a thought (i mean they cut out so much important stuff in the movies, why would they waste time on second rate characters?)

Ahh... I just saw his picture. He looks nothing like Sir Michael Gambon, but hey, what's wrong with that? He's nothing like him in the book - not as wise as him and on and on...

I did hear about Aberforth but didn't know he was the bartender at Hog's Head. I think I have to read over that part. Haven't heard of the actor, with this role I'm sure he'll grab attention of the casting personnel.

Oh right, that should be interesting to see Aberforth. I don't think I've ever seen Jim McManus, I should go see which previous films he's been in, his name sounds quite familiar for some reason?

strangeseraph says:
It never actually specifically mentions in OOTP that the bartender is Abeforth, rather, that tidbit of information was provided by J.K. Rowling in the Edinburgh Festival interview in which an audience member guessed correctly who the bartender was from the clues that the book had provided. The bartender smelled vaguely of goats, and resembled somebody that was familiar to Harry. Also, the HP-LEXICON considers Edinburgh Festival interview to be canon. :)
I'm writing a fanfic about Abeforth. I can't wait to see him on screen, it'll give much to my fruitful imagination.
Peace!

I think the only time Aberforth was mentioned was when Albus Dumbledore mentioned him to Harry (and I think some other people) and when Mad-Eye Moody showed him the picture of the Order.
