Warner Bros. has now confirmed to us the release dates for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in several countries:
The newest dates give French and German fans an earlier bow for the film than English-speaking countries.

At least it comes out July 13th for the U.K., United States, and Ireland...We'll all just have to be patient and wait.......It's only two days after the release date in France......Nothing to get all huffy and puffy about......I think this movie will beat GOF, because so much happens in this one, with Voldemort back and everything!! That's really unfair to the people that live in Australia, and I don't care what anybody says, the UK should be getting it before anyone else!!! I don't care whether or not we here in North America have to wait a little longer, but nobody should have to wait a month like Australia, not unless your some third world country somewhere, in which case it's a bit more understandable, there's bigger markets out there, and Australia is one of them! There's absolutely no way France and Germany should be getting it before the UK, either, it's absurd.

This could well be a double edge sword, by setting the release date, the filmakers are in rush to fulfill that due date, and if they succeed, not only they are being praised for their relentless hard work, but also the fans will be pleased. But if they miss, 'all hell will be broke loose', the fans will get upset and the sales...

It does seem bizarre that the film should be released in first in counties that are neither its origin , nor its place of production, but don't argue with the big guys, I suppose. Congratulations to the French! I would've thought that HP would be on global release, though, to crack down on piracy.
