In an odd column complaining about football commentary in the UK, the author asks the question "Is quidditch the worst fake sport ever?"
While watching the latest Harry Potter movie, the author questions the rules of the game; its popularity in the wizarding world and sportsmanship.
The author equates
quidditch to basketball and the worthlessness of the game:
Running simultaneously are: a version of basketball, where players are required to punt a ball called a quaffle through various hoops; a perversion of the kind of bodyline swingball favoured by hyperactive 10-year-old boys, where the aim is simply to whack one of two balls called bludgers at your opponent; and the search for a tiny flying ball called the Golden Snitch, which must be captured for the game to end, and is worth an instant and wildly disproportionate 150 points.
So to clarify, I am required to keep my eye not simply on three balls at any one time, but also on a winged snitch (which is virtually invisible to anyone in the crowd anyway), the capture of which almost without exception renders the preceding however many minutes or hours entirely worthless.

This guy needs to get a life! I think quidditch is like awsome! JK probably took a lot of time trying to get all the rules, equipment and other things down. I think he is just board with this own life...

Ok you know I hate it when people rag on stuff like this. Its a fake sport, it doesn't have to realistic, or make sense. The point is that the fans love it and look forward to reading the games in books and watching it on the big screen. To many it is a highlight of the series. Quidditch Rules!!!

Wow, This person who wrote this must be really bored with their life. Honestly, Quidditch is awesome. If we had a sport like this I would be playing it all the time. Obviously, he isn't a Harry Potter fan like us. But still we should not be bashing some fake sport. If they don't like it then keep their mouths shut.

As we have already seen in the books the amount of points you make during play are highly important even if you lose a match to get you back in the series or even win it as in the Quidditch World Cup.

Although I don't particularly like Quidditch, it's not because it's ridiculus, but as in any sport i find it a little pointless - like ANY sport. Quidditch is still obviously better, at least there is more going on in Quidditch to keep your mind occupied, unlike football which is incredibley tedious. I think she made it so complex to interest more people, because to me most sports are incredible dull and pointless to watch.
