Reports from the set of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix have been few and far between, but this morning a report
appeared online stating that Emma Thompson will reprise her role as Professor Trelawney and that the Knight Bus will also be making an appearance in the movie.
According to HPFZ from an extra in the film:
I have definite news that the scene where Trelawney is sacked by Umbridge will appear. It takes place in the courtyard (the one used at the end of GOF) and features Filch, Trelawney, Dumbledore, McGonagall, Umbridge and all of the main student cast (however, none, apart from Harry, play a big role in the scene).
During the scene, a group of extras (including me) have to stand on the steps outside the courtyard's main doors while [the teachers] and Harry have to pass through us. Trelawney is standing traumatised over a large group of her suitcases. (However, she isn't wailing and screaming like a mad person as described in the book. She's just standing upset and overwhelmed.)
I can also confirm that there's a Knight Bus stored on one of the sets, [and that it is slightly different from the one in Prisoner of Azkaban.
As of now we can't confirm the authenticity of this report, but if true the movie sounds like it will be fun to watch.

Great to hear! I would love to see Trelawney in here. She does have that scene where Umbridge tries to fire her, and the Knight Bus would be very important too.

This is one of those scenes where you just loathe Umbridge, and I think especially her being portrayed by Imelda Staunton, this is going to be good in there. Yay for Trelawney!

Wow that sounds great, I wish I were an extra in a Harry potter film, I must agree though that changing the way things happen in the book is not the way to make the audience like the movies better. I really enjoy the movies when they are quite like the book and just make whatever you pictured real.I do hope they didn't change it that much.

I wonder how the Knight Bus can be "slightly different". As long as it's a purple coloured, old fashioned triple decker it's fine and if they've changed a tyre nobody will notice. Of course the inside must be different - chairs instead of beds - but surely a passer-by cannot notice that? I could live without the Talking Head though.

YES! Emma Thompson was great as Trelawney, I'm glad she's going to be back! But I must admit, I didn't like the Knight Bus in PoA.. mostly for adding that idiot talking head, it just destroyed it, in my opinion. I wonder how it will be different though.

It really sounds good. I never had the vision of a screaming and armweaving (??) Trelawney. It's okay the way it will probably turn out now. The Knight Bus is slightly different from the one in Prisoner of Azkaban? Who cares? As long as it is IN the film, I don't really care much about the design of the Knight Bus. Hey, we'll see Stan and Ern - perhaps even the Shrunkenhead - again! Whoho! hip hurray!

I'm looking forward to seeing this scene! It is a very important spot not to lose - Trelawney getting sacked - but being saved, the twins giving their send off, and curious how many sherry bottles we will see around Trelawney's room? That will be important set-up for #6 movie!
