A newly discovered dinosaur species has been named 'Dracorex hogwartsia' after the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, made popular in JK Rowling's Harry Potter books.
In a special
satellite video feed on Monday, May 22, Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission paleontologist Robert Sullivan will describe the naming of the newly discovered dinosaur species.

I can't even believe this...it's incredible. I mean, to have written a book, which turned into a movie, both of which are internationally renowned...okay, that's heard of! On the other hand, having a dinosaur named after the characters in the book you wrote...that's priceless!

That's pretty funny, even if it is a ploy to get people interested in paleontology. I must say, it is pretty brilliant.

A Dinosaur species was named after Hogwarts. I would have never thought. Of all things they would name after harry potter, I would never expect a dinosaur to be named after it. Well, this is just amazing. Woohoo!!!

Seems highly unusual, for the dinosaur spiecies to be named after something like this, however... I am all for it, except I think I would have gone with the harryrex or siriusrex or remusrex. Never "Draco" ~~ shivers ~~

That is really really funny and cool at the same time. It also seems a little bit random. I love that the paleontologist named it after Hogwarts though. At least that gives it a cool name instead of something really boring and lame.

Ha, that's amazing! Harry Potter is influencing everything! Well, if its enormous popularity wasn't enough to cement the series into history forever, I guess this will do it. Hmmm, maybe "Dracorex" was for Draco Malfoy. I doubt it, but would be even better.

Harry's Echo says:
Why couldn't it have been 'Harryrex hogwartsia' instead of Dracorex?? Well, maybe it's just some weird scientific coincedence that the word 'Draco' is in there.
It's still pretty exciting and cool.
Here's something I never thought I'd say/write:

Whoa, a new dinosaur species. The lucky dinosaur, to be named after Hogwarts. Maybe not so lucky to be dead though. Is the first part named after Draco Malfoy or something?

AHahahahahaha. Ohhh that's such a honor to JK. A dino species named after the one in HP. Well, I guess these people couldn't come up with a better name, plus HP's always sound real. But yay. Good.
