A newly discovered dinosaur species has been named 'Dracorex hogwartsia' after the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, made popular in JK Rowling's Harry Potter books.
In a special
satellite video feed on Monday, May 22, Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission paleontologist Robert Sullivan will describe the naming of the newly discovered dinosaur species.
UPDATE: You can read additional information here

Hey that's pretty neat. It's a sign of just hoq big thw Harry Potter world has become, if one of the features in it is now in the name of a Dinosaur. I bet JKR is chuffed about it. Though can we be sure if it is actually named after the wizarding school? Could it just be pure coincidence?

That's great.
Slight typo there though. If that's the scientific name of that dinosaur, the name should be in italics, with the first first alphabet of the firs (genus) name in capital, and the second (species) name in all lowercase.

That's weird but I'm sure JKR would be very flattered. If they're also honoring Draco, I'm sure this would put him in a good light. Then again, they're naming a dinosaur after him, so....

Well, that is one of the dumber things I've ever read. At first I thought it was a hoax. Why would someone name a dinosaur after Harry Potter? The two subjects are completely unrelated and I can't see why someone would think that was clever. I could understand naming a pet or something after HP, but never ever a dinosaur. Wow.

That is really odd, talk about HP mania! Of course I am a huge HP fan, but unless the dinosaur had the bone-structure like a castle, I don't see the point of that name!

Sounds strange that a newly dinosaur species will have that name. The paleontologist must have read all the books carefully to come up with that root word.
