Patrick Stewart, who plays Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men movie series, lamented at a Cannes Film Festival press conference
recently that he hasn't been asked to be in the Harry Potter films.
"Every single actor over 60 in England is in the Harry Potter movies," he replied when asked if he wanted to continue doing fantasy films. "I am still smarting from the fact that Ian McKellen starred in Lord of the Rings and apparently there was no part in it for me."
Prior to the X-Men films, Stewart was best known for his role as Jean-Luc Picard in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation.
X-Men: The Last Stand opens in theatres this weekend.

Maybe they will ask him to play a part in HBP now that they know he is interested.
I'm trying to think what part in that book he could play(other than the ones that HAVE been taken)
The New Minister of Magic ,maybe(they could always give him a long wig).
I'm giving this some more thought and may return with more thoughts on this later.

He'd make a really great Aberforth Dumbledore, but that part has already been cast.
That character is supposed to be the antithesis of his brother, Albus and I know Patrick would have done a fine job; especially if later, in Book 7, is due to become Harry’s new mentor and the one who completes his DADA skills prior to his fight with Voldemort and the death eaters.
On another note, he would also be good at doing Rufus Scrimgour when they get around to filming HBP in 2008.

I really wish he had been considered for Dumbledore. I know its hard to look at him in Star Trek and think that he'd make a good DD, but he's such a fine actor and so genuinely likeable that I think he could have pulled it off with the right makeup/costuming and with an accent!

6. Phineas the portrait - (oh, yeah! That'd be really cool - Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) and his great-great-great uncle or whatever Phineas was (Patrick Stuart). => Patrick Stuart and Gary Oldman "related". I like the idea ...
