Bloomsbury publishing director Liz Calder said the next and final Harry Potter book is "likely" to be released in 2007... she hopes.
At the British Council's Creative Future
conference in India this week, Calder allegedly said as much in an interview with Indo-Asian News Service:
"One more 'Harry Potter' only but she (Rowling) said from the beginning that she would write seven. So she would not write another one after this. But Rowling would write other books for us," said Liz.
"The next 'Harry Potter' book is likely to come out in 2007. I hope so."
While Calder's comments are optimistic at best, she's one of only a handful of people other than Jo herself who could make such a weighty prediction.

Well considering we have herd no recent news on how JK is going with the writing of the seventh book, its hard to say whether the 2007 release date will be kept. I hope its not too far away though!

Well, I think we can raise the bar of hope for Harry to come out on 7/7/07. I think still though that they're will be an 8th book because Harry isn't returning to Hogwarts next book.

It is sad that we'll have to see the books' end, but every good thing does come to an end, but on a happy note it is nice to hear that J.K. will not stop writing OTHER books for us that I'm sure are going to be just as wonderful!

oh dont we all? haha..

this statement seems far more confusing than it needs to be haha.. I think shes talking about JK writing books that arent about Harry.. haha.. interesting.. I'd love to read some of her other stuff but I have a feeling it just wont be the same :(

Woohoo, it's still due to be released in 2007! Shame it isn't earlier, but at least they haven't said it could be 2008 - that would be a disaster! Hopefully it will be released on time, or thereabouts.

It is sad to see the last book arive, and knowing that all other books JKR writes will not be the same. But it will still be great to get the final book and see the end of the story we all have come to know.
