Rowling discusses last 'Potter' book, deaths

JK Rowling appeared on the Richard & Judy Show in the UK, and had a few things to say that may interest fans.
Some highlights from the show:
- Book 7 is NOT finished but she is well into it
- The final chapter for book 7 has changed slightly - two more people have died than she originally planned and one other person has got a reprieve
- Jo first wrote the final chapter in 1990
- She has regretted writing some parts where she may have boxed herself in, earlier in the series
- Jo says Ron is generally more popular than Harry -- remembers seeing an unofficial poll on a fansite reflecting this

- She would be willing to kill Harry in order to prevent future authors from writing sequels
- She was in denial of her fame for the first three books, shocked when the press made slight reference to Potter
- Jo mentioned she is indeed wealthy, but many stats are falsely reported
- Jessica, her daughter, is often pestered at school for upcoming book titles, plot details, etc.
- Jo has written half of another children's book in her spare time
- Her boggart would be that of Mrs. Weasley's: her children dead
- She made up the rules for quidditch in 30 minutes after a fight with her ex-boyfriend

Hmmm i really dont want harry to die because hes the hero. And i wanna know where sirius went behind the veil-i am so looking forward to this book but i will miss it of course.

Because I'm sure if she changed it--Harry will die. But if she didn't Harry won't die because she never thoght of killing Harry(she said in some interveiw I remmeber) untill the recent. Wow! That's so weird. But anyways. This interveiw has actually enlightend me and I think she will not kill off Harry. Just what she says pooints twords no. I also think that it's nifty thatshe thought up quidditch in 30 minutes! That's wow!

ok, like what is up with this? at the end of book 3, she said that "every year I will make a new book"!!! this will be 2 years since book 6 came out in july!! and i thing that the 2 characters that die are dirinatly luna and nevvile!!

No, I don't think it's Neville or Luna. she said that it would be two characters that are not extra's meaning they're important to the storyline, and sorry if i'm insulting anybody, but neville and luna aren't essential to the plot. however, she said two more than planned, so they could die anyways... *sniffle*

okay... this only makes the waiting even harder!! why does everyone think that one of the unfortunate deaths is Ron's? What makes you think so? I also think that Draco may be the one to be given a reprieve. maybe just wishful thinking... not that I'm a huge fan of his. I just feel sorry for him and the upbringing he's recieved, and if Harry can save the entire wizarding world... who needs more saving than Draco?
