When last we checked, a slim majority of fans said Harry Potter would die in the last book in JK Rowling's series.
The informal poll, conducted by HPANA, garnered over 45,000 votes and was even cited by The Sun in an article.
With Rowling's recent revelations about upcoming deaths, we decided to ask again: Dead meat, or life so sweet?
Unlike our last poll, however, you only get two choices: Yay or nay.

Alright, I know that Jo will kill Harry if it is true to the story. I, however, want Harry to live. I would like to see him play seeker for the Chudley Cannons and Marry Ginny. As for the Auror job, wouldn't 7 years of battling You Know Who make a person sick of fighting?
Most of all I'd just like to see a happy ending for Harry. His Life has been hard, and he deserves some time live happily. Plus there are so few happy endings in real life it might be nice to read on once in a while.

Well, my theory is that JK has been Harry's creator for 15 years, and I don't think she would be able to sacrifice him. Maybe every one around him, but not Harry.

Very interesting. I just hope that he doesn't die, but if Jo is willing to kill him off then who knows! All I know is I don't want to know what happens until I've read it myself. Someone ruined the ending of HBP for me, and I don't want it to happen in this one!

So, yes, he will die, probably sacrifice himself...or kill Voldemort and die in the process...not that i want hi to die or anything, just it all makes sense thats all :)

We all have to remember this is a childrens book
and uhm... i almost never post comments for the news... i'm more active on the forums. i got an email notifying me that someone mentioned my name in a post... and the topic was 'dead or alive' so that was a bit scary when i first glanced at the email subject.
*EmmA WannABe*... uhm... haha we have the same name. :D
do you think you could sorta alter your member name... add a few numbers or what not... coz we'll be getting each other's emails and that would be very confusing.

This is one of the burning questions for the last book, along with "oh, is Harry a horcrux?". While I think its definitley possible for Harry & basically anyone to bite the dust, I dont think he will die. :fist punch in air: Instead I think Harry will end up siriusly <- :D injured in some way. Defeating VD & coming out of that battle unscathed as well as alive seems a bit unrealistic.

I'm still on the fence on this issue. I think that live or dead J. K. Rowling could make it into one heck of an ending. But if I had to pick one I think it would be dead, I feel its more of the heros end to a book.

Wow, that's asking a very horrific question from us all. But I think he'll die... but good god I hope that I am sooooo wrong! I just don't know how he can possibly beat Voldemort without a killing curse(Avada Kedavra) and I dont know if Jo will make him a killer. Jo, please don't kill our Harry!
