Earlier this morning, Harry Potter author JK Rowling attended
a press conference ahead of her charity reading with Stephen King and John Irving. At the press conference Ms. Rowling commented that she will have to go through a bereavement process when finished writing the last book in the series.
On the one hand, I am going to feel sad. Harry's been an enormous part of my life and it's been a turbulent phase of my life and he was always the constant.
So there will be a sense of bereavement.
But there will also be a sense of liberation because there are pressures involved in writing something as popular.
Wonderful though it's been, I think that there will also be a certain freedom in escaping that particular part of writing Harry Potter.
When asked about the two deaths that she previously mentioned, Ms. Rowling said:
I guess some people will loathe it, some people will love it.
You can now see pictures here
from the event.
Meanwhile, John Irving and Stephen King urged
Ms. Rowling not to kill of Harry off in the last installment, but Rowling made no promises.
UPDATE: Veritaserum has posted the full audio of the press conference.
UPDATE II: Video of the press conference can be seen here

She sounds like she is going to kill off both Harry and Voldemort? If, she does that is so evil of her.

There will always be someone that hates the book. I just hope it answeres all the major questions leading up through the series, and it wouldn't hurt to have a unique ending. Sigh, still no word yet about whether she is even close to finishing the book. This is looking more and more like a release date of no earlier than November of next year.

Some will hate and some will loathe??? I'm hoping I'm going to be one of the one's that loves it. But if she says some will love it I don't think anyone in hte trio will die. No one will love that.
I will just be really sad that it is all over though.

That doesn't sound good. Understandably she can't say either way, but still, I have a bad feeling that she might do something horrible, inconceivable, to Harry.
Hmm I was hoping she would tell us something we didn't already know, but I can't be selfish. Oh well.

I have a feeling if some will like it and others will hate it! then I might like it cause it's probly Snape or draco(even though I don't want him to die, but more than a few other people) I have a feeling someone that hangs out with Harry will die like one of the weasley's or someone else! Oh I can't wait for this book!!!

I don't blame Jo for being relieved that the HP series is almost going to be over. Its a lot of pressure and stuff to write such an amazing book like Harry Potter. Plus, the scenes, characters, everything in her books is so meticulous and specific, it must really take a toll on her when she's writing a book, especially if she has writers block, then the release date is going to be delayed, and fans won't be happy.

Wish I could've been there. Pity JKR didn't spill anything about book 7. She must have to be on constant guard to protect secrets from the last book. And I think everyone here is going to have to go through a bereavement process after reading the final book.

Full audio! Exciting! Somehow I missed this earlier, I wonder how.
I have a very entertaining picture of JK Rowling standing on a stage in some kind of fancy gown and one of those pointy princess hats with bedraggled John Irving, Stephen King and a pile of others groveling at her feet asking her to spare Harry's life.

No! It sounds like she's going to kill Harry! I hope not! Of course she couldn't give any clues to the ending because that'd be no fun, so even if she was going to keep Harry alive she couldn't tell them. But I could see what she means by the end being both sad and a relief. When I finished writing my favorite series, it was just sad because it's not popular yet. I think either way it'll be a great book, but I sure hope it's a happy ending. I wonder what she means by some will love it and some will hate it?

If that doesnt give me chills "they'll love it or hate it". Only two faces pops into mind. Snape and Ron. Snape bec his been playing both sides for so long and at this point does himself really know what he believes in anymore. And Ron bec its only a matter of time before one of the weasley clan gets killed off. If not Ron...hmm well we'll soon found out.
