Earlier this morning, Harry Potter author JK Rowling attended
a press conference ahead of her charity reading with Stephen King and John Irving. At the press conference Ms. Rowling commented that she will have to go through a bereavement process when finished writing the last book in the series.
On the one hand, I am going to feel sad. Harry's been an enormous part of my life and it's been a turbulent phase of my life and he was always the constant.
So there will be a sense of bereavement.
But there will also be a sense of liberation because there are pressures involved in writing something as popular.
Wonderful though it's been, I think that there will also be a certain freedom in escaping that particular part of writing Harry Potter.
When asked about the two deaths that she previously mentioned, Ms. Rowling said:
I guess some people will loathe it, some people will love it.
You can now see pictures here
from the event.
Meanwhile, John Irving and Stephen King urged
Ms. Rowling not to kill of Harry off in the last installment, but Rowling made no promises.
UPDATE: Veritaserum has posted the full audio of the press conference.
UPDATE II: Video of the press conference can be seen here

See?! John Irving AND Steven King want him to live! Hehe, she's got to be under a lot of stress. I'd be sad if I was her too, I don't know, it has to feel personal...

Hmm.....I didn`t really like HBP at first and I kinda hated it, so I hope im not one of the haters this time round!
It must be hard under the pressure of writing HP, It will be missed! For me, 9 years of waiting for the series to be finished will be over.

I'm sure it is going to be very hard for her to stop writing about Harry, and I do understand how she could be relived that it is almost over.
I am happy to hear (her comment about who is going to die) her say some will loathe it and some will love it. Who could possibly love Harry dieing, that might be a clue (hopefully?)

Cool. Even though I love Harry Potter, I guess it would be fair to give JK a break from it.

Haha, even Stephen King doesn't want her to kill Harry, AND John Irving? Well, it's all up to her. *fingers crossed* Hmm, I'll put 1 Galleon and 5 Sickles on Snape. Sounds reasonable, some people think he's good and don't want him to die, and some want him to die, cause they believe he's the reason the Dumbledore's 'dead'. Ahh, did she just give the ending away?
She has reason to be both sad and relieved, she'll be getting rid of pressure and also a huge part of her life, but we love her, and will still love after Harry, right guys?

I wonder how much pressure JKR must feel having so many fans awaiting the books and just hoping for a happy (or perhaps sad) ending. I'd crinkle under it, I think. Must be hard for her not to be able to say a word about the plot to anyone.
I hope she'll continue writing after the Harry Potter saga's all over. I've always found a certain comfort in reading her writing. Its really smooth, and I can sit down for hours with one of the novels.

I don't know about you all, but that statement only means one thing to me: Ding dong, Snape is dead ; )

It has been a long nail biting road-for us that is. I can't imagine trying to make sence of it all and then putting it on paper. Knowing when to reveal something and when to hold off for the next chapter or the next book.
