Earlier this morning, Harry Potter author JK Rowling attended
a press conference ahead of her charity reading with Stephen King and John Irving. At the press conference Ms. Rowling commented that she will have to go through a bereavement process when finished writing the last book in the series.
On the one hand, I am going to feel sad. Harry's been an enormous part of my life and it's been a turbulent phase of my life and he was always the constant.
So there will be a sense of bereavement.
But there will also be a sense of liberation because there are pressures involved in writing something as popular.
Wonderful though it's been, I think that there will also be a certain freedom in escaping that particular part of writing Harry Potter.
When asked about the two deaths that she previously mentioned, Ms. Rowling said:
I guess some people will loathe it, some people will love it.
You can now see pictures here
from the event.
Meanwhile, John Irving and Stephen King urged
Ms. Rowling not to kill of Harry off in the last installment, but Rowling made no promises.
UPDATE: Veritaserum has posted the full audio of the press conference.
UPDATE II: Video of the press conference can be seen here
.

I know that I am going to be one of the people that will love the ending. There is nothing specific that I want to happen, so I will be content with however JKR decides to draw it to a close.

Hhhhmmm, after reading her comment that some will love it and some will hate it, it really seems to me that it must be Draco or Snape that bite the dust. That still does not give us the others who may die. I think more than two are going to die, it is just that two will be very big characters. A far out idea is maybe Ginny. You know how violently some people feel about relationships in the series. Perhaps those who hated the Harry/Ginny thing will be happy she dies, but other will be be upset. Like I said it is out there but you know how JK loves the curve ball. Anywho, I can't wait till the book comes out, but I will be more than a little sad to see it all end!

I am not going to be relieved to be at the end. I want to see how the series turn out but a finale? I do not think I can handle that. She is a great author, I hope she leaves us with something everyone can be happy with if not she will bugged forever

Well, true there will be people who will be upset. No matter what she does someone will wish she did something different, but I think over all people will love it. It's Harry Potter after all. Of course at the same time people will be upset becuase it's over. We've a long wait ahead of us, but I'm glad that JKR isn't hiding herself away until the last book is about to be released.

I think we will all be grieving for harry once it is all over, especially if it ends the way we are afraid it will end. He has been a huge part of all of our lives. But we at least I will never forget him! I still read the books over and over!

I stil hope that JKR will make more books in the same book-universe as Harry Potter.
Sorta like the Silmarilion and The Hobbit was a part of the Tolkien universe to the book-sereies:_ "the lord of the rings".
