Earlier this morning, Harry Potter author JK Rowling attended
a press conference ahead of her charity reading with Stephen King and John Irving. At the press conference Ms. Rowling commented that she will have to go through a bereavement process when finished writing the last book in the series.
On the one hand, I am going to feel sad. Harry's been an enormous part of my life and it's been a turbulent phase of my life and he was always the constant.
So there will be a sense of bereavement.
But there will also be a sense of liberation because there are pressures involved in writing something as popular.
Wonderful though it's been, I think that there will also be a certain freedom in escaping that particular part of writing Harry Potter.
When asked about the two deaths that she previously mentioned, Ms. Rowling said:
I guess some people will loathe it, some people will love it.
You can now see pictures here
from the event.
Meanwhile, John Irving and Stephen King urged
Ms. Rowling not to kill of Harry off in the last installment, but Rowling made no promises.
UPDATE: Veritaserum has posted the full audio of the press conference.
UPDATE II: Video of the press conference can be seen here

I stil hope that JKR will make more books in the same book-universe as Harry Potter.
Sorta like the Silmarilion and The Hobbit was a part of the Tolkien universe to the book-sereies:_ "the lord of the rings".

I'm really sad about this being the end of the series. I think Harry will die, but I'm really really hoping that Snape is innocent.

I understand. The Pressure would indeed be HUGE. With all the scrutiny placed apon her, all the worry about the media and fans... I'm sure she'd be glad that it sort of slows down, because she's now always going to be remembered as the HP author, its not really ever going to go away completely. I can tell though, that Harry is as important to Jo as he is to us, the fans which speaks volumes in my book! BRING ON HP7!!!!

I Have no idea if this is true but my mum said that in the papers it said that writers have been pleading her not to kill off harry! I dont know what that means but yeah i hope not but what else could happen but he cant die becuase it said that only one can live or whatever so if he dies does voldemort stay alive, but then she may never write anymore about harry and his world after the last book so he would have to specially as they were meant for younger people like children and all it would have to have some sort of happyness in the end wouldnt it?

When she says some people will be sad and some happy it cannot be Harry who dies. It must be Snape that dies or maybe Draco. Somebody that people would love to see go but others hate to see that happen.

Now that's got me thinking as to who they could be. The first one that comes to mind is Snape, but maybe it's a bit too obvious to be him....

I went to the event, and I think that Stephen King wore the same exact thing! He didn't change his clothes???? Whatever...Anyway, Oh my gosh! About the two deaths, she said that "Some people will loathe it, Some people will love it." Woah! Who would love for Harry to die??? That means, HARRY WONT DIE!! Right????? Right.

Wow, hadn't read this until now, but that's exciting... So this means that she will kill off someone controversial. Hmmm I think it'll be Snape. But I guess lots of people want to see him dead though, so it won't be too big a disappointment!
