As exclusively reported by HPANA back in April, composer Nicholas Hooper is set to write the music for director David Yates' Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, it was announced by Warner Bros. in a press release
today.
...composer Nicholas Hooper will create the film's score, reuniting him with director David Yates for whom he has scored multiple film and television projects, dating back more than 15 years. Hooper won a BAFTA Award for his work on the Yates-directed television movie The Young Visitors.
Helena Bonham Carter, who replaces Helen McCroy as Bellatrix Lestrange, was also confirmed.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is due out in 2007.

I hope this guy is as good as the other one. I would seriously prefer to have the other composer back but I guess we'll have to see what sort of music he produces. I hope he stays with the same feeling as we got from the first four movies.

Oooh, he is a good writer. I hope the music is as wonderful as it was in POA. The music for that film was exquisite and by far my favorite.
Hopefully we will get a sample soon.

Very nice. I like it when directors call on favorite compoasers. It really says something of the composers ability. Or, then again, maybe just of the director's taste.

Haha, Helena beat Helen to the part by an 'a'. Well, Hooper must be good, but what happened to John Williams? Is he still alive, Geri?

Yates and Hooper have worked together before so that's awesome to hear. The music is an essential part of the movie. I think it's gonna be great. Helena Bonham Carter looks like she'll make a great Bellatrix.

Helena Bonham Carter! The one from The Corpse Bride! Awesome. I wonder what she looks like as a Bellatrix. I'd have to Google her. And awesome about the music scoring though I have no connaissance in that field :P

Helena Bonham Carter? Wow, that is very good news! She is an amazing actress. I just hope that they can make her look a little taller as I have always imagined Bellatrix to be tall and stately looking. Not petite at all.

Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange? I can definitely see that, as long as she dyes her hair black. I was sort of hoping Peta Wilson would be Bellatrix; I think she's the best choice for her.
