This morning many Harry Potter fans woke to reports that Warner Bros. had announced a release date of November 21, 2008 for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
You may remember that in March David Heyman mentioned that Half-Blood Prince was set for 2008.
Numerous sites are reporting the release date:
posted a list of movie release dates, pointing out that Warner Bros. had Harry Potter and
the Order of the Phoenix and Ocean's Thirteen as its two major summer releases for 2007. The sixth movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, will be released on November 21st.Please note that no information about the movie, director or actors has been announced. We will update with any news we receive from Warner Bros. in reference to this date. Thanks to everyone who emailed.

How can they announce a release date for a movie they haven't even got started yet? Someone could die by then or have some major life experience that holds them back, I think it is cruel to get our hopes up when it could be so easily put back...by quite a bit

That's quite odd. Usually they have a plan but this is really advanced. Perhaps they just want to get this over with since the books are becoming done with. I should think they would announce a director and a producer at least.

Wow, in 2008? That's only a year after the 5th one is realized. That's pretty cool. Good for us, but I bet those actors aren't going to get much time off! They probably need to do it soon since the actors are aging, and Harry Potter would be worth skipping a vacation in my opinion. Oh well!
