This morning many Harry Potter fans woke to reports that Warner Bros. had announced a release date of November 21, 2008 for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
You may remember that in March David Heyman mentioned that Half-Blood Prince was set for 2008.
Numerous sites are reporting the release date:
posted a list of movie release dates, pointing out that Warner Bros. had Harry Potter and
the Order of the Phoenix and Ocean's Thirteen as its two major summer releases for 2007. The sixth movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, will be released on November 21st.Please note that no information about the movie, director or actors has been announced. We will update with any news we receive from Warner Bros. in reference to this date. Thanks to everyone who emailed.

Wow...That seems pretty early. It's good that we'll have two Potter movies in a roll...That way the actors won't be too old for their roles. But do we even have a date for the Order of the Phoenix?

That's interesting that they have a date already. Hopefully all of the actors will come back to complete the series. Maybe they will do the last two films back to back since the younger actors will basically be adults by 2008.

Ohh, that is great. i expected it to be two years later than OotP, but sooner is definitely better. I can't wait for both movies. Especially HBP which is my favorite book. I will definitely cry at the end of that one (that is if they make it emotional enough, and I think they will).

Wow, Warner Bros. is really going full steam ahead with these movies. It's hard to believe that we'll be on HBP already! I think it's great that they're doing these movies in such a good time frame. I bet the trio and everyone else who's stayed on since the beginning are going to be pretty exhausted after this.

This is wonderful news! It looks to me as though they are making every effort to keep all the stars the same. The quicker the movies can be released, the less they will have to listen to comments about Dan, Rupert, Emma, and crew being too old to play their characters. Excellent! I can't wait.

This is definitely exciting news. :) It fits right in too. Kinda like PoA and GoF did... about a year and a half of the movies coming out when PoA came out in the summer and GoF came out in the fall the following year. :) Can't wait to see HBP on the big screen!
