Last week we mentioned
that many entertainment sites had posted a release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Warner Bros. has confirmed for HPANA that the movie will be released on November 21, 2008, 16 months after Order of the Phoenix.
Even though this is the earliest fans have been given news about an upcoming Potter movie, please note that no additional information has been released - which means no director, no cast and certainly no composer.

How are they going to release it 16 months after Order of the Phoenix? Maybe it's not going to take that long to film. Well, I guess I'll know more like next year when they start casting.

wow. Oh, wow. I cant believe that. The studio has said when something will be released when no one even knows whether or not the same people will be involved. Or anyone at all. That tells you right there that some studios will carry on no matter what the cost. I dont want to see it if all diff people are involved. That woud really be too much.

I'm so glad its truly gonna be out in November 2008! They're probably scheduling all the movies to keep the same cast, which makes sense to me. They probable wanna move the series along too so people stay interested.
I don't care what the reasoning is, I'm just thrilled to be able to look forward to so much HP in two years!

Wow, this is pretty early to give us the release date. The 5th one isn't even done yet, it's hardly even getting filmed, it just started a few weeks ago, well, resumed after like a 2 month long hiatus. Anyways, I love it when they release a movie in the winter, this means that DVD comes out near or close to my birthday!!

Hopefully this is not going to be a rush job to get the 6th movie done. And I really hope that Dan, Emma, and Rupert are going to do their roles also. You just can't get rid of them, they are Harry, Hermione and Ron in my opinion.

Scarlett Kent says:
While I am looking forward to the next two HP movies,I am not looking forward to the scenes in which Michael Gambon will appear. I do not care for his portrayal of Dumbledore, especially the scene in GOF which he manhandles Harry after Harry is selected by the Goblet for the Triwizard Tournament. I thought his Dumbledore's behaviour was quite violent and abusive towards Harry, which I find terribly disturbing especially in view of the numbers of young children who see these movies. What kind of message does that send? That it's acceptable for one of the most beloved and trusted authority figures to behave with brutality towards a student? Not to mention that Gambon's Dumbledore is nothing like the one we know and love in the books. Gambon's portrayal has none of the quiet power and majesty that I expect from Dumbledore, and his performance has pretty much ruined the HP movies for me.

You are totally right Scarett Kent, I also do NOT like the way he's portraying Dumbledore. He makes him seem mean.
