Last week we mentioned
that many entertainment sites had posted a release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Warner Bros. has confirmed for HPANA that the movie will be released on November 21, 2008, 16 months after Order of the Phoenix.
Even though this is the earliest fans have been given news about an upcoming Potter movie, please note that no additional information has been released - which means no director, no cast and certainly no composer.

This is very early to give a release date, especially since there are no actors ect signed. Now I imagine that there will be much nail biting from all of us in fandom to see if schedule will conflict with other commitments and other concerns will keep our favorite actors and actress' in for HBP. Great suspense and a great way for WB to keep intrest up on the franchise with no film or book release this holiday. Between this, the filming of OoP, the new book coming next year, and All earlier HP films coming off the shelves this December there is certainly enough to keep everyone's intrest through the "dry spell".

Sorry to repost. I did want to mention that I also agree with you Inamorato. I believe that the films should be released in the UK before, or at least on the same day as in the US. All credit for these films, story, actors, locations are to the UK and it is unfortunate that the people of the UK don't get first peek.

That is awsome! Just in 2008 huh? well i am a little afraid because Daniel and Emma and Rupert will def look older that 16 by then, but then make-up always helps, but still. But I hope it turns out well! There is so much information in the 6th movie that i don't know how they are going to do it, but we will see!

O.M.G that's GREEAT! :-) 16 months isn't that long... It's weird how they pick random dates though. I mean, they say 21st, but why not 20th or 22nd? L.O.L I guess they just have to pick randomly.
