Last week we mentioned
that many entertainment sites had posted a release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Warner Bros. has confirmed for HPANA that the movie will be released on November 21, 2008, 16 months after Order of the Phoenix.
Even though this is the earliest fans have been given news about an upcoming Potter movie, please note that no additional information has been released - which means no director, no cast and certainly no composer.

That is pretty fast. That's two and a half years from now, but it's pretty good. I thought we ould have to wait for two whole years for the realease of HBP after the release of OotP, but I guess not. Only a year and four months, which is 8 months short of two years. Thats great!

Oh well. At least we know when the next movie will come out. Hopefully everyone who is in the book, will be in the movie.

But it's still good to know right. It's near my birthday and everything...it's great! I think it'll be a hard movie to make...there's so much that just has to be in the film it will have to last 6 hours...or longer.

I just wonder how it is possible they haven't found a director yet. Maybe they are unwilling to take on the task because they're interested in directing Movie Seven instead... HBP is such a great book. Sure we hope Book Seven will be great as well but still, if I were a director I would be dying to direct HBP.

That was the predicted release date. I think it sounds like a good time. Thanksgiving should get it plenty of money because of all the family gatherings.
Hopefully the movie will do the book justice.

Thats pretty amazing that they would tell us the release date already. I can't wait to see the movie and it is very exciting that they are telling us this! I can't wait to see it any more since we already have a confirmed release date and they havent even finished the filming of OotP.... :)

WOW! Absolutely Excellent! I am really shocked that they are telling us this release date so soon without even knowing who is going to direct it and what actors/actresses will be in it. I mean I would think they would need to know all that first before being able to determine the actual release date because what if someone doesn't want to return and they have to shop around for a new replacement then that would probably effect the date atleast I would think so! So.... one is forced to think that this date will most likely change in the future. However, I am thrilled that they are giving us the info anyways because any info concerning Harry Potter is what I like to hear!!!

Maybe if they spend more time on the 5th movie and concentrate on one at a time they can finish them faster. they said it themselves "no director, no cast and certainly no composer" how can they know to a specific day when eveything will bw ready.

I actually went on www.imdb.com and it has Dan, Emma, and Rupert all down to play in the HBP, so we know that much. imdb is pretty accurate in the imformation they get, so we know the trio will be the same, which is awesome and something I was afraid of(The trio being replaced)... lets hope the trio stays the same for the 7th movie. Anyway, I'm glad we now have a release date for HBP too, although I must say, I wasn't expecting it until at least after the OoTP came out in theaters. Oh well, I'm not complaining. Everyone have an awesome day :)
