In a recently conducted interview on the set of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at Leavesden Studios, Daniel Radcliffe discusses the ending of the series and the sixth movie, Half-Blood Prince. He also talks about his next role on London's West End in Equus and his accent in his recently completed movie December Boys.
Dan on the end of the series and if he's spoken with JKR about it:
I've had talks with her but, not about that. I don't know anything that's going to happen in the seventh film. I hope it will be very, very good I'll go with whatever.
I think it will be quite exciting really. It may be the only way (the arch villain) Voldemort could be killed is if Harry dies as well because there is that very strong connection between them.
Dan on if he will participate in the Half-Blood Prince movie:
I don't know. But the sixth book is fantastic and if the script is good and does it justice, then it would be foolish to turn it down.
Dan speaking about his West End debut in Equus next year and appearing naked on stage:
All the other actors who have ever played the part have done that, so for me not to do it wouldn't really be playing the part. It would be a watered down version. It wouldn't be the same.
I'll be incredibly nervous, but I think 'It's in the script; it's got to be done.' I'm terrified, but excited.
Dan mentions at the end of the interview that everyone will have to wait to hear his Australian accent in December Boys when the movie is released and that he enjoyed working in a different country with a new crew.

One thing I really like about Dan, is the fact that he actually LIKES HP! Which rocks! Although I understand that a lot of actors view HP as 'just another movie' its always a bonus if they are a fan! This way, I think I'm going to like Evanna too... :p
Dunno what Dan will be like in the West End..weird...

I've never really been a fan of his, really, but I have to say that the Harry Potter films wouldn't be the same without him. Think about it, think about how far they've all come. They're getting close to releasing the fifth film. I never imagined they'd get this far. It seems such a long time since I first went to see Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in the theatres, and yet at the same time it seems like only yesterday. I find it sad in a way; it means that the fun of Harry Potter is coming to an end, and once it's ended, I feel that we shall never see it again.

I'm thrilled to hear Mr. Radcliffe state that he hasn't given up on Harry Potter for other projects. It would be foolish to think that just because he is 17 that he is to old for this part. As with other actors and actresses, there certainly can be an "artistic licence" with his actual age to that of the character that he portrays. It would be a sin for film 6 and or 7 not to have at least the trio at this point, by other major supporting cast as well, Weasleys, Prof's MacGonagall, Snape, Lupin, Alistar Moody et al.

It is so weird to read about Dan considering whether or not he's going to do HBP. Of course that's always out there whenever production is starting on a new HP film and of course he has to say he might not do the movie, as he negotiates a new contract with each film, but hearing him discuss it...it's oddly like "huh, he's really grown up now, isn't he?" Like, he speaks for himself on these issues now.
I think Equus will be a great challange for Dan...the character he's playing is a tough one. I admire that he's mixing it up and, from what he's said in the past, I'm sure there's much more to it than wanting to make it easier to shake the Harry affilation later on. Dan really wants to perfom professionally for the long haul and he's continuing to build a very interesting resume, especially at his age.

Great interview! Two great ones in a row also. It would be terrible if the movies stopped being filmed or other actors took the spots of others. It would not be the same if the actors who play the characters left!

Its very cool that Dan is doing other movies besides Harry Potter. Though what he said about Harry and Voldemort is interesting. . . And I hope I can get the movies he's doing (and Rupert's) here in the U.S.of A. If not that would be bad.
