Devon Murray, (Seamus Finnigan) from the Harry Potter movies, recently kicked off
off UNICEF Ireland's Kids Helping Kids campaign. The campaign hopes to raise €100,000 ($128,172), with funds going directly to support UNICEF programs to bring safe water to children caught up in emergency situations.
Devon, who is from Kildare, launched this year's campaign at a children's party and said:
UNICEF Ireland want children right across the country to get involved in this year's 'Kids Helping Kids' campaign. There are lots of ways to have fun and raise money for UNICEF's safe water programmes for children at the same time.
Please join this year's campaign - it's a great event that everyone can easily participate in!

I think it's wonderful what Devon is doing! Do we know if this is a campaign being done here in the States? If it is I'll definitely encourage my own children to participate. It's a great cause and I'd like to find something in our community to get them involved in so they can understand what a great feeling it gives.

Good for Seamus Finnegan for getting involved with such a worthy cause and organization! It's wonderful to see that some of the young HP actors are using their public appeal to help other people. So many of us take good quality drinking water for granted, not thinking what a basic need it is and how many don't have it. And to get other kids involved in this cause is just brilliant for so many reasons. If kids can get involved in projects like this, they will be learning important lessons about compassion, etc., at an early age, and nothing but good can come of that!

Mr. Murry is yet another example of the great things those associated with the HP franchise from Ms. Rowling to the children and young adults in the films are doing to help other. I think it is wonderful that these people are such great role models. Well done!

This does not aspire me to help. Although I have to find it funny that they are working towards such a random ammount, but perhaps that has to do with conversions.
