Harry Potter author JK Rowling has updated
her site to squash part of a recent article that appeared in the press a few days ago. A tabloid paper in the UK quoted
Ms. Rowling as saying that "I’m up to about 750 pages now."
JKR posted on her site earlier today:
JKR has written 750 pages of book 7, and told a journalist this at the tea party for 'Driving Lessons'.
Oh pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. I haven't written 750 pages of book seven, and if I had, I'd be very worried, as I'm not close to finishing it yet.
I was at the tea party for Driving Lessons, though, so this isn't pure fiction. The journalist reports that I said that Rupert is 'absolutely terrific' in the film. He is, so that bit shouldn't be in the rubbish bin at all.
Thanks to Peter and everyone who emailed.

I wouldn't believe it, if it was true...It is too early to have so many pages and by 2007. It would still be too early for such amount of pages.

Whoa, ok I got worried for a minute when I saw the 750 pages and was like "wow that seems a bit much for the moment." I know the other books are longer than that. But seems a bit fast. Can't wait for it to come out! I'm so excited!

A lot of hard work goes into writing each page..and writing as much as she has, man, she has already written soooo much.

I’m glad she cleared that up, but it is a shame that she isn’t close to finishing it . Though in a way it is good that she is taking her time with it because that means the end result will be better.

Thank goodness Ms. Rowling has a website where she can communicate with her fans and squash these outrageous rumors flatter than a carpet. May she take as long as she needs to write the final book to her satisfaction. She will have many loose ends to tie up in this final book which makes it one of the most difficult books to write in the entire series.

I had mixed emotions when I read this post. First I was upset, I really thought that she would be closer to finishing than she seems to be. But then I was sort of happy, because the sooner she finishes, the sooner there will be no more new Potter books. So, I decided to let JKR take her time.

Well, it really doesn't matter how long it is because we all know it will be too short, and end too soon, and the last book will be read too quick. She may take all the time needed to make it a superb writing, not leaving out any twisty knots that need to be untangled, and making it a story worth waiting for. I have no doubt she will soon get to 750 pages if she's not near being done.

Well, I'd hope she had written 750 pages, because knoing her they would porbably be 750 awesome pages and the more to read the better... but obviuosly that would be what she's call 'too much'.
I really can't wait until next year. Shouldn't she be close to finishing the book already? i mean the release is only like 10 months away and I know editing and printing takes a long time. Hopefully, everything will be perfect and the book will be in our hands on July on next year!
