Harry Potter author JK Rowling has updated
her site to squash part of a recent article that appeared in the press a few days ago. A tabloid paper in the UK quoted Ms. Rowling as saying that "I’m up to about 750 pages now."
JKR posted on her site earlier today:
JKR has written 750 pages of book 7, and told a journalist this at the tea party for 'Driving Lessons'.
Oh pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. I haven't written 750 pages of book seven, and if I had, I'd be very worried, as I'm not close to finishing it yet.
I was at the tea party for Driving Lessons, though, so this isn't pure fiction. The journalist reports that I said that Rupert is 'absolutely terrific' in the film. He is, so that bit shouldn't be in the rubbish bin at all.

I would love it if the book would have much more than 750 pages. I'm sure too that she wouldn't give that much information about the book. I'm glad she was there to support Rupert.

I bet it is really quite annoying when people take your words, twist them around a little and then claim you said that exact phrase and paste it all over the tabloids, well maybe that journalist was hoping to rouse excitement or something, but lying isn't kool, so get your facts right journalists!

I really hope she takes her time and thinks about all the possible feelings and emotions she will incite with every paragraph of every page.

I'm looking forward to, and dreading, Book 7 at the same time. I can't wait to see what happens, but I'll be sad that there will be no more HP books to look forward to. I'm glad that JKR has quashed the rumors started by the tabloid reporter as to how far along she is with the last book.

But I am sad to hear she isn't close to finishing yet. I hoped she would at the point of just putting in the finishing touches and polishing it up by now.
