Harry Potter author JK Rowling has updated
her site to squash part of a recent article that appeared in the press a few days ago. A tabloid paper in the UK quoted
Ms. Rowling as saying that "I’m up to about 750 pages now."
JKR posted on her site earlier today:
JKR has written 750 pages of book 7, and told a journalist this at the tea party for 'Driving Lessons'.
Oh pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease. I haven't written 750 pages of book seven, and if I had, I'd be very worried, as I'm not close to finishing it yet.
I was at the tea party for Driving Lessons, though, so this isn't pure fiction. The journalist reports that I said that Rupert is 'absolutely terrific' in the film. He is, so that bit shouldn't be in the rubbish bin at all.
Thanks to Peter and everyone who emailed.

If the book was finished to early that it would be all smushed together; But when she takes her time with it it will be a lot better; So i would rather have it take longer and be better then to be put out and all scatterbrained

Well it would have been really really nice if she were to have already written 750 pages. But i guess not all dreams can come true ;)
It agrivates me that people would falsely quote J.K. though. I mean seriously who has enough nerve to do that? I will rip them limb from limb next time it happens!

I hope that JKR will make a new book in the same universe. If we compare JKR´s fantasy-univers with Tolkiens fantasy-universe; If the Harry Potter books are more or less "the Lord of The Rings", then i hope that JKR will write her "own" books like "The Hobbit" and especially "The Silmarrilion". So i hope JKR will make books about when Snape, James, Lily, and Sirius was kids, and went to Hogwarts - But 7 books is not necesary, 2 books will do fine. The i also hope JKR will make a book like Tolkiens "Silmarillion", where she tells the backstory of the whole univers: how the magic nation was founded, how Hogwarts was founded, Who Merlin and the 4 heads of the hogwarts-houses was.

"Not close to finishing it yet"?! Oh, torture! I had quite happily deluded myself into thinking that we would be able to pre-order it in just a couple of months, but that is beginning to look like a rather fantastical hope. I wonder what page she is up to, though? I do recall reading an interview once where she stated that this would propbably be the longest of all the books, so it seems like she has a long way left to go.

hehe, I kind of wish she was that far with the book, or that it will be at least 750 pages long. Okay, I can't wait to read book 7.

I'm not sure wether I should be relieved or sadden by the news. There's a part of me that wants the book to be super long but another just want quality... I guess I just need to wait and be happy with the results.

Dang it. I've heard that she is half way done, so when I read that article, I was really excited for it to be 1500 pages long. I've never read a book that big and if i ever did it would HAVE to be a harry potter book.

Did I comment on this one already? Don't remember... Well, I just wanted to say that I really don't want to write my essay, and that I really think that is important for Jo to take into consideration when she finishes her book. I know a real life Jo now, actually! A girl-Jo, and a boy-Joe ;)
