has been updated to wish Hermione Granger, our resident bookworm, a Happy Birthday. According to the Lexicon, Ms. Granger would be turning 27 on September 19th.

To everyone confused about Hermione's age. Should she survive book seven (which I have no doubt she will), she would have turned 27 a couple of days ago. The books take place several years ago. The majority of Sorcerer's Stone takes place in 1991 (15 years ago). Hermione turned 12 years old in September of that year. Hence she would have turned 27 this year.
Hermione IS older than the two boys. This was explained and verified in Half Blood Prince. She will be turning 18 at the beginning of the seventh book.
