In a new interview from the set of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Emma Watson mentions
that she is unsure if she will commit to the remaining films saying: "I don't know yet. Every film is such a huge production, and it's a long time."
She also discusses filming Phoenix, her co-stars, flying and boys.
Do you think you want to be an actress for the rest of your career?
Emma: I don't know. Daniel and Rupert seem so sure. I don't know. I wouldn't want Harry Potter to be the last thing I do. Nothing is ever going to be quite on the scale of this. I appreciate that. And also I've come into acting in such a funny way. Most people who want to act have to sit through hours of auditioning and work their way up, whereas I seemed to have come straight in at the top, having had no experience at all. That's quite a strange position to be in, but amazing at the same time because it has given me so many options and choices. I definitely would like to do other films to see what it's like. I'd really like to try some theater, actually, because I think I would really enjoy that immediate response from an audience. I love making people laugh. I love to perform, but there are so many things I love doing. [Pause] Maybe that seems ungrateful. I have been given such an amazing opportunity, but I'll just have to go with the flow and see what happens.

Well, I don't blame her for being unsure of what she wants to do. I mean, she MUST do all the Harry Potter films - she's already done 5 out of the 7! But I mean, she's so smart. Her GSE grades were fantastic, and she could be anything else she wants to be with those subjects. She could even be the next Ben Carson! (as in awesome neurosurgeon)

If they should ever have replaced them, then it should have happended after the 3rd or 4th film, but not now, that would be weird.

She'll sign on. As mentioned in the article, it's not the first time she's had the "collywobbles" on signing. And as someone mentioned here, they'll throw whatever money at her it takes.
I worry more about losing Robbie Coultrane. NO ONE else could play Hagrid. No one. I'm still not used to Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. He's "The Other Dumbledore".
Funny, remember reading somewhere the cast (at least the kids) wanted originally to sign on for seven movies, but WB wasn't going to bite until they knew it was a hit. Bet they hate that now.

Yeah, I can understand wanting to do other things. She's a brilliant actress though, it would be wasting a talent if she didn't keep acting at least for a little while longer. She had better keep playing Hermione, though. She can't just stop being Hermione. It'd be like the end of the world!

Ultimately, she has to be able to live with her decision. Personally, I'd rather regret doing something, than not doing it. I wouldn't want to wonder about what could have been. Then again those are years you can't get back once they're gone. Emma Watson is still so young and should enjoy her youth doing whatever it is she wants to do, while she still has so many options.

Ok, she really is going to tick me off if she leaves the Harry Potter series of film before they are done. I understand that the future is scary and uncertain but she should be happy that she would have a job for the next four years... atleast. I guess it makes me angry because I know that Rupert and Daniel are in for the long run.

I say this every time one of the star says this: You aren't going to get anything better than HP. You are a child star. If you do any acting after this, I am 99.9% sure that you will not be successful.
It's the truth. They are all child star. They might attempt to have acting careers but odds are they wont do well. Stick with HP; don't think you are too good for it.
