In a new interview from the set of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Emma Watson mentions
that she is unsure if she will commit to the remaining films saying: "I don't know yet. Every film is such a huge production, and it's a long time."
She also discusses
filming Phoenix, her co-stars, flying and boys.
Do you think you want to be an actress for the rest of your career?
Emma: I don't know. Daniel and Rupert seem so sure. I don't know. I wouldn't want Harry Potter to be the last thing I do. Nothing is ever going to be quite on the scale of this. I appreciate that. And also I've come into acting in such a funny way. Most people who want to act have to sit through hours of auditioning and work their way up, whereas I seemed to have come straight in at the top, having had no experience at all. That's quite a strange position to be in, but amazing at the same time because it has given me so many options and choices. I definitely would like to do other films to see what it's like. I'd really like to try some theater, actually, because I think I would really enjoy that immediate response from an audience. I love making people laugh. I love to perform, but there are so many things I love doing. [Pause] Maybe that seems ungrateful. I have been given such an amazing opportunity, but I'll just have to go with the flow and see what happens.

The Harry Potter movies will never be the same without Emma as Hermione. I saw the first 2 movies before I read the books and Emma is the way I have always pictured Hermione to look like in my head.

She'll be back. She stated before she'd hate to see anyone else playing Hermione and I believe that. Two more films and she could probably retire for life.

Ooh I hope she will do the last of the films! There are only 2 more to go, but I do understand that not much has changed with the movie. If she doesn't stay I don't know if I would like a different person playing Hermione.

I thought she was saying, she wasn't abandoning acting, but questioned if she wanted to continue doing the rest of the Harry Potter movies. Of course it would be interesting to see her in more movies, plays etc
It would be odd seeing someone else play Hermione since Emma's been acting her role for the past four movies. Anyway I don't think she'd leave unless she was 100% sure she didn't want to do it, and also she probably would want something else to fall back on. Maybe acting in another movie that pays the same or higher. Oh well, we'll have to see.

I hate when she said she's unsure about it. Why she have to say it every time the new film comes? It's terrifying.

Severus' Advocate says:
I'm sure she's said this before.
But if she quit, it just wouldn't work. She made Hermione's charactor come alive, and will have been playong Hermione Granger for five films now, and it would just be too weird having some other girl play Hermione for the remaning two films. It wouldn't work, it would be so fake.
Hermione's like the heroine. Emma brought her to life and she can't be replaced.
i wonder why she's saying this when obviously, she probably isn't going to quit after five films.
She probably does want more money, she thinks if they see her saying that in interveiws they'll offer her more cash.

Scarlett Kent says:
It would be a shame if there were any major cast changes this late in the game. It was bad enough having to deal with the disappointing choice that was made to replace the late, great Richard Harris. I understand that the Harry Potter films have taken up a huge portion of Emma Watson's young life, but I always wonder, when I hear actors talking like this, if it's a ploy for a better deal in the contract negotiations. Whatever happens, though, I wish Emma all the best.

If she quits...I think she'd lose all street cred she's gotten. That would be quitting before her time is up. She will be remembered for being Hermione Granger, and good for her that she wants to do some theater, but honestly, it's silly to think of her not finishing the films. I think she'd regret that decision for the rest of her life.

I hope she does stay on for the next two movies i just cant see anyone else as Hermione. Same with Dan and Rupert it would be too wierd to see someone else play Harry, Ron, and Hermione besides Dan, Rupert, and Emma! im sure shes going to stay on and i dont think it has to do with money or anything like that...if she isnt sure if acting is what she wants to do for the rest of her life then she can do somthing else. I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that the hole original cast comes back to do the last two movies! i mean why wouldnt they? they've done five why not just finish them all?? i will say one thing I will be very dissapointed if they do chainge one of the main characters! i just cant stand it when they do that even in soap operas! :(

It's good that she is taking her time over the decision, but I just wish that all the regulars (except one) should sign up for the remaining movies so its done. Otherwise there is too much speculation going on.
