In a new interview from the set of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Emma Watson mentions
that she is unsure if she will commit to the remaining films saying: "I don't know yet. Every film is such a huge production, and it's a long time."
She also discusses
filming Phoenix, her co-stars, flying and boys.
Do you think you want to be an actress for the rest of your career?
Emma: I don't know. Daniel and Rupert seem so sure. I don't know. I wouldn't want Harry Potter to be the last thing I do. Nothing is ever going to be quite on the scale of this. I appreciate that. And also I've come into acting in such a funny way. Most people who want to act have to sit through hours of auditioning and work their way up, whereas I seemed to have come straight in at the top, having had no experience at all. That's quite a strange position to be in, but amazing at the same time because it has given me so many options and choices. I definitely would like to do other films to see what it's like. I'd really like to try some theater, actually, because I think I would really enjoy that immediate response from an audience. I love making people laugh. I love to perform, but there are so many things I love doing. [Pause] Maybe that seems ungrateful. I have been given such an amazing opportunity, but I'll just have to go with the flow and see what happens.

I think that's good she is thinking ahead... I can't blame her for that... but I couldn't picture another Hermione... Any of the minor characters I couldn't give two squats for... but the main characters have to be the same... Just like w/Dumbledore... I think Gambdon is doing a fine job, but he just isn't Dumbledore!!!

I hope that all of the actors and actresses can commit themselves to all seven movies to ensure consistency in all films; I would prefer over anything else to see that all the films emulate each other in as many ways as possible so as to seem familiar and less awkward. However, I can sympathize with the position in which Emma Watson finds herself; popular culture is pressuring her into continuing with the role of Emma Watson at a time she is confused about her very identity and what she wishes to achieve with her life. I can't imagine how overwhelmed she must be by it all. Although learning that she'd abandon the Potter franchise would prove quite upsetting, I would still be as fond of her as ever, if not more so, for mustering the strength necessary to defying whatever others stated and making her own choice.

Ok, what I just read does not seem to say that she won't be doing the remaining films. Maybe I misread it or something but I got the impression she was talking about acting outside of the HP universe.

Well, the films woundn't be the same without here. It would almost ruin them, I would not be happy with a change like that, but I'd live. It is, of course, her life, and it is all up to her in the end, now isn't it?

The last two films won't be the same without the trio. We know that Rupert is definitely doing them. I really hope Emma and Dan do too.

Oh how could Emma not do the last two movies?
I realize as the trio are getting older they want to venture out and do new things, projects, college. Just have a life in general but come on...the last movies would not be the same without the three lead characters being the same.
I mean it's not like James Bond. He can change without too many tramatic reprocusions because he is a secret agent with a name and numbers that was no doubt made up by the agency he works for. It's like fiction within fiction, whereas, HP characters are only the first layer of fiction. 007 was created to be ever changing. HP characters were not created in the same manner. I hope that makes sense (smiles).
Please continue being Hermione, Emma!

..... I'm just completely shocked and starting to get upset. I mean I really shouldn't be, for these actors are getting older and these are they're lives were talking about, but its not that... ughhh (resulting to lists)
FIRST OF ALL:
1. Let me ask all of you when you read Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix, when Hermionie is leading Profeesor Umbridge out to the Dark Forest, who do you "picture" acting out this part. oui, Emma Watson. And why is this my friend? HMMm well, as she has, we have all grown up "on Harry Potter" with Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint playing these lead roles. Now im not saying that, we, as the viewers, that our thoughts should outrule what she wants to do with her life. Its her life. But this is just very drastic and sad if she were not to continue with the role. she's hermionie. and if she's afaid of being labled as that character for the rest of her career (whatever she chooses to do) she really has the power to step out of her relhm once the hp saga is over, and develop her life and self into what she wants to be and do. She's done a great no fabulous job with the role, and in the end it is completely her decison, but I would be heart broken if she ever decided not to continue with the role. i can't picture anyone else ever doing anything as she has done with it. I mean the chemistry between the three of them is so vibrant, can you imagine some new girl, EVEN if she was some prophet brilliant actress with super talent, it wouldn't evern matter. Its the last two films for goodness sakes!! The most inportant so far. What if Hermionie dies in the end, it wont even come close to the emotional effect if watson doesn't play the role. I mean, basicly, if watson leaves the saga, the role, in a way, will kind of die. sighhhh this was too long.
think longggggg emmmaaaa!!! please please/do whats best, but please just stick with it, it would never be the same................................................................... ever.

Psh, I'd be pretty ticked if she doesn't do the others. And not because I'm an Emma Watson fan, but because she made a commitment when signing on to do the films. Does she realize how angry and upset people will be to see a different Hermione with the same Harry and Ron? It just wouldn't be right.
