In a new interview from the set of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Emma Watson mentions
that she is unsure if she will commit to the remaining films saying: "I don't know yet. Every film is such a huge production, and it's a long time."
She also discusses filming Phoenix, her co-stars, flying and boys.
Do you think you want to be an actress for the rest of your career?
Emma: I don't know. Daniel and Rupert seem so sure. I don't know. I wouldn't want Harry Potter to be the last thing I do. Nothing is ever going to be quite on the scale of this. I appreciate that. And also I've come into acting in such a funny way. Most people who want to act have to sit through hours of auditioning and work their way up, whereas I seemed to have come straight in at the top, having had no experience at all. That's quite a strange position to be in, but amazing at the same time because it has given me so many options and choices. I definitely would like to do other films to see what it's like. I'd really like to try some theater, actually, because I think I would really enjoy that immediate response from an audience. I love making people laugh. I love to perform, but there are so many things I love doing. [Pause] Maybe that seems ungrateful. I have been given such an amazing opportunity, but I'll just have to go with the flow and see what happens.

I went and read the whole interview, but I must say, it's interesting that Emma sort of has a hard time finding a guy... Recently, I've met somebody who I absolutely adore, but it's a bit difficult to keep in touch. That would probably be a sort of difficult thing with Emma too. She travels a good bit, and I like how she says taht she likes flying first class. He! It'd be such a delightful experience, to be able to go from being some eleven year old child who isnt really anybody special, to becoming a grand actress in the greatest movies of yes, let's say, the century! What a big jump for her, really. And, on top of all of that, to only have one month a year really to do whatever she likes with. How hard it would be to really keep any good relationships with friends. I see my freinds every single day, well, nearly, and I'd hate to have it any other way. I like that Dan and Rupe are a bit like brothers to her, it's rather funny, they've seen her at six o'clock in the morning with no makeup. hehe! I think its funny, she really cant look taht bad without makeup, can she?

Do some other movies in between Potter films like Rupert and Daniel have done eg: Driving Lessons, December Boys

That said, I think they have done a poor portrayal of HErmione in the films . . .

She's become such a big aspect to the movies, she's like the sisterly know-it-all who trys to keep them out of trouble, but fails miserably! Then again, how imprisisoning, to be attatched to these movies for a great deal of her life. It's really all she's had time to do. I wouldnt' mind it though. But seriously, Harry Potter without Em? It's not the same, it's just not the same. After OotP, theres only HBP and then the last one. Maybe if they took a year off of filming... Please don't leave Emma!

I am sure she will carry on for the remaining films. Call me cynical, but it seems like she is letting Warner Bros know that she wants more money for the remaining films. This is a role that many actresses would play for little or no money at all.

I think if Emma doesn't finish Harry Potter to the end that she is being selfish. I can understand extenuation circumstances but just not wanting to is a whole other story. I think she will finish but if I not I will be totally mad.
On the other side yay for interviews. She seems sweet. But I am so mad that she even thought about not finishing Harry Potter.

To be honest i really dont think that she is gonna leave......but i do think that it would be risky to change to characters now......i mean emma put so much of her in hermione that no one would be able to make hermione the same......i mean there is only 2 films left it would just be a bit wierd.....but i do see why emma isnt quite sure....i would want to go to college and get a career too... and that is a big commitment to sign for the next 2 films as well.....i think that she should do other films to....

I mean shes played Hermione since day 1, and it would not make any sence at all if she just bailed out of doing the rest of the films.

Well, I don't blame her for being unsure of what she wants to do. I mean, she MUST do all the Harry Potter films - she's already done 5 out of the 7! But I mean, she's so smart. Her GSE grades were fantastic, and she could be anything else she wants to be with those subjects. She could even be the next Ben Carson! (as in awesome neurosurgeon)
