Toby Jones, the voice of Dobby from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, confirmed
in a recent interview that his character will not be making an appearance in Order of the Phoenix.
Jones remarked:
I know that the filmmakers have a problem with each new film because the books are getting longer — there's so much to include in them.
Jones also commments on being in the second movie, Chamber of Secrets:
The thing I feel very, very proud of is the fact that I get mail just about every week of the year from all parts of the world — very nice mail thanking me for that way I voiced the character and saying how accurately I did it. So it's a great addition to my life and a very unexpected one. I had no idea that the character would have that much impact.
The article also mentions that the character of Kreacher will be in the movie and that sharp eyed fans should be on the look out for clues that may happen since JK Rowling told screenwriters what is important to include in the movie adaptations.

Aw! I hate that Dobby isn't going to be in OotP! He would be great in that. How is Harry supposed to find the Room of Requirement without him? Of course, they used Neville to find gillyweed in GoF instead of Dobby, so I guess it's possible. Also, I can't stand Kreacher, but I guess he is important in OotP.

I think including Dobby would make the movies have a nice flow. Retunr characters link movies together better, IMO.
Oh well, at least we get Kreacher!

Not fair I wanted to see Dobby too. Atleast they are including Kreacher and didn't completely cut house elves this time. Wonder what the clues are that were mentioned.

I agree! OoTP should be a two parter!! Intermission! I know they don't have time and have to cut something out, but I think there's a reason why JK has included Dobby so early, along with the whole SPEW. There has to be another reason for their presense, and I think it's a shame they're cut out. Make the movie four hours long with intermission - we'll still see it!! :)
