Kreacher in, Dobby out of 'Order of the Phoenix' Popular (11656)

Toby Jones, the voice of Dobby from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, confirmedopens in new window in a recent interview that his character will not be making an appearance in Order of the Phoenix.

Jones remarked:

I know that the filmmakers have a problem with each new film because the books are getting longer — there's so much to include in them.

Jones also commments on being in the second movie, Chamber of Secrets:

The thing I feel very, very proud of is the fact that I get mail just about every week of the year from all parts of the world — very nice mail thanking me for that way I voiced the character and saying how accurately I did it. So it's a great addition to my life and a very unexpected one. I had no idea that the character would have that much impact.

The article also mentions that the character of Kreacher will be in the movie and that sharp eyed fans should be on the look out for clues that may happen since JK Rowling told screenwriters what is important to include in the movie adaptations.

MWbashfulAR, that's one possibility how Harry learns abot the room, I think that Sirius could tell Harry about it although this wasn't in the books. But as he is a marauder he should know about all secret places anyway...

Kreacher...I'm curious how much screen-time he gets...

Oh, of course... she always gives clues about what'll happen. I'm okay with Dobby not being in it... After all, the whole SPEW line was abandoned.

All these little tidbits are interesting. It is going to be interesting to see what was left out of the movie and then we can tell what is going to be important and what isn't to figure out what is going to happen in book 7.

By the time everything gets cut there isn't going to be much left of the story. Dobby is one of the best characters in the books. I'm beginning to think that this movie won't live up to the Hogwarts standard, and not be as interesting as it could be. Blessings! Hecate3fold!

It's a bit of a disappointment to me, seeing all of these important(again, to me) details being ripped out of the storyline. I wish that the movie could just be hours and hours long, and we could sit there in theatres for what feels like forever. Unfortunately, we cant.

NOOOO! This is horrible. I really liked Dobby's role inte the Order of the Pheonix. He may be understanding but Im not. Who's going to tell the D.A. about Umbridge coming and... I'm afraid he's not going to appear in any of the other films. He's was cute in the Goblet of Fire when he told Harry they took his "Weezy". This truly sucks!

Dobby, the second most shaft character in the HP series next to Ron. :\ All I know is they better not do the same for HBP because that little subplot it somewhat important to the book!

I am glad they didn't take out Kreacher though. I think they'd have officially ruined the movie then.

No I like Dobby, they can add even a small part with him in the DA. Kreacher is important for the 6th book but Dobby is still there with him and he cares for Harry unlike Kreacher.

Cool, that sounds really good. At least Kreacher is in it, without him OoTP wouldn't be the same. Maybe it would be good if they at least mentioned that Dobby is at Hogwarts since he will be working with Kreacher in HBP following Draco around the school.

And I'll be sure to keep an eye out for Kreacher and what he takes in to hiding. *is thinking Locket*
