Some news about Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has appeared in the latest edition of Empire
magazine. In the article, director David Yates states that he has filmed "a movie that's probably over three hours, so I'll have to lose 45 minutes in the edit."
David Heyman mentions a call from JKRowling on the casting of Luna Lovegood and Imelda Stauton states that she is amazed that it took so long for her to be cast in the franchise.

Woah, over 3 hours! I wonder what they'll cut out. 45 mins is alot to cut. They may skip some of the important bits when skipping that much.

Wow, taking off 45 minutes worth of scenes in a movie is quite a lot...I hope they don't cut out anything that shouldn't be..then again, that would be a hard decision.

Heck, if it included everything in the book, I would be THRILLED to watch a 3+ hour HP movie!!!! That would be awesome!!! 45 minutes is A LOT to cut, when you think about it. So much could be added in in 45 minutes. Oh well. I'm sure it'll still be a great movie nevertheless.

45 minutes!? Okay, they should hold on to all that footage and put it on a special edition dvd. Call it the directors cut or something. Yeah, that's it...
Yeah, it'll never happen.

There have been other movies that have been over three hours long!!!! Why can't Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix be just as long!!!???? I woulden't mind, it doesn't make the movie worse............in fact it makes it better because you are able to put more things in and other people will be able to understand it better!!!!!! What's wrong with these peeps???????
Oh well, we will all live...

If he is going to cut that much out he should release an extended edition like Lord of the Rings did. I love them and I see no reason why they should not be over three hours. I know little kids can't sit that long but at least release a long one for us adults who have much longer attention spans. I think we lose so much when they edit like crazy to make the movies shorter.

Wow, they have to cut 45 minutes out of the movie? That really stinks, the longer the Harry Potter movie, the better. You know, they should really put those 45 minutes of footage that they have to edit out in the DVD extra's. We should sign a petition or something to have them do that, and they should really put bloopers in there too.

Well if they have to cut scenes, then I hope everything that gets cut ends up on the deleted scenes on the DVD. I hate knowing that I'm missing out on something even if it wasn't "important" enough to be in the movies.
