in Melbourne, Australia on Thursday, December 7th at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, the show will also be aired on channel Nine at 9:30 pm the same night. Other guests include Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger and Sam Neill.

AFI stands for Australian Film Institute.
It will be on at 9:30pm AEDST (Aussie time) and I'm sorry but I very much doubt it will be shown anywhere else in the world (well maybe New Zealand). It's not as big as something like the BAFTA's or the Oscars so no other overseas channels would pick it up. Not to fear though, I'm sure many of us Aussie's will send in clips of the event so the rest of the world will see them too. Hope that clears everything up again! :)
He might be staying to watch THE ASHES!!!!

PEOPLE: THESE AWARDS ARE AUSTRALIAN. MELBOURNE! IF THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU HAVE EVER HEARD OF THE EVENT, IT IS MOST LIKELY THAT IT HAS NEVER BEEN SHOWN IN YOUR NATION/CITY.
I'm not trying to be mean or spiteful, I just want people to understand how frustrating it is to read the same comments over and over again once they've already been explained.
