in Melbourne, Australia on Thursday, December 7th at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, the show will also be aired on channel Nine at 9:30 pm the same night. Other guests include Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger and Sam Neill.

[b] OK, I'm Australian I know what's going on so I'll fill you in. AFI is the Australian Film Institute. Daniel Radcliffe will be there, because we always have internation stars attending, and also, he has a house in Melbourne, so it's almost like his 2nd home.
Channel 9 is a TV station in Australia. We have 5 free to air stations and channel 9 is called NBN, it has a lot of Australian shows on it, and often hosts award shows and big events like the footy.
I highly doubt that the show will be broadcasted in the states, because it's not as big as other award shows like the Acadamy Awards and such... But I'm sure clips will be avalible and maybe segments with Daniel will be put onto youtube..
I'm going to watch it, wish I lived in Melbourne so I could stand in the crowd, but you can't have everything!!

Melbourne is in AUSTRALIA! Channel Nine is one of the best known free to airs in Australia. It is separate from Channel Nine in America (whatever that is), and as I'm gathering from some comments from Brits, doesn't exist in Britain. And, Roswelladdict, it is probably extremely unlikely to being aired in America. The AUSTRALIAN Film Institute is just a small Aussie Movie Awards which people outside Australia take no notice of and people inside Australia often miss as well. It's not even as big as the ARIAs, and they weren't aired outside Australia, unless they went to air on ABC Asia Pacific or in New Zealand. I reckon that would be the only way the awards will be shown outside Australia, okay?

You snapped my head off and I made no mention that Melbourne was any where besides Australia (just so you know I spent part of my honeymoon in Melbourne.) As for the AFI, I really did not think about where the awards were I assumed that it was the American Film [b]I[/i]nstitute awards. Thank you for setting it straight. Maybe next time you can do so with a little less snap in your comment. I really was not thinking about it and am truely glad that Daniel is going to attend the awards. Also, if I remember correctly I made the comment that I doubted that channel 9 was the same every where.
Had I really been thinking about it I would have remembered that AFI's awards are the Academy Awards (and are held in the spring.) So for that I am terribly sorry, I simply meant no offense to anyone.

Funny, I was thinking how hard it must be for Daniel's mom and dad to keep up with scheduling for him, travel plans, work, and retaining some resemblance of normal family life. He is just getting old enough to travel around alone, but for years mom or dad had to take care of all that, and they've sacrificed a lot of their time toward his career. He is just everywhere nowadays!
