In an new interview
with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix director David Yates, he comments on filming the movie, working with Dan Radcliffe and what the movie is really about.
There's a really interesting principle at the heart of this story. The ministry is this bureaucratic authoritarian regime trying to impose a fundamental doctrine on this liberal wacky school. The ministry isn't very good at accepting the beauty of differences. Everything has to fit in a box, and if it doesn't fit, it must be removed. The wonderful thing this story tells kids is that it's OK to be different.
I'm having the time of my life. It's like being at filmmaking gym. You're working every single muscle as a storyteller. These films are full of comedy, adventure and a bit of thrills. It's terrific.
The Newsweek issue will be on sale next week. Thanks to Andrew for the tip.

Hmm i think i like what he says. He looks like someone who likes and trys to understand the book.
So i hoppe he' ll make a better job than Mike Newell in GoF (because in GoF it looks like if he even didnt read the book)!

Sounds like he is having fun directing it. I think that I am going to like him as a director, but I don't particularly know yet if I would choose him to direct the seventh movie. Can't wait to see it though, hope it's great.

David Yates is a great director. I loved "The Girl in the Cafe." His take on OotP seems quite interesting; I know it's going to be good no matter what.

This film looks like it just may be the best adaption of a Harry Potter novel to date! I really hope it is, coz there are so many things that could potentially go wrong with this one... Please Yates, make us proud!

He's such a dearie. I so much want him to stay and direct HBP. I can hardly wait for the director of the next movie to be announced. Well, if it's not him I should be glad they let me keep hoping for longer :) I just don't understand why there's so little information about him on imdb. I'd love to know more about him.

This is the first time that I've heard the word "comedy" in reference the this film. Every one keeps talking about how "dark" the film is. Time will tell if there is any comedy in it. Blessings! Hecate3fold!

I hope I can work with this guy someday either as an actress or a writer or both. But, as always, I can't wait to see Order of the Phoenix!
