It has been over a week since author JK Rowling announced the title to her last book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and it would seem that hoaxers are trying to get an earlier start on deceiving her fans. Recently we at HPANA have received emails stating that JK would be adding a new announcement to her site. In fact, this announcement was supposed to appear today, December 31.

Now of course since that date has come and no new diary update has been added, which was supposed to state that she had finished writing the book, it would seem that this would be the first of many that fans will see on the Internet.

If there are any updates in relation to the last book, or anything else from Jo, it will be posted on our main news page, so please, be cautious and don't fall into the trap of believing everything you read before the publication of the book. Constant vigilance.

You may remember that shortly before Jo announced the title of the sixth book, Half-Blood Prince, a hoax was played on the world announcing the title as Harry Potter and the Pillar of Storgé, which JK denied shortly thereafter.

We also interviewed the prankster of that event, which you can read here, where he justified his actions by saying: "If I had not started the hoax, would we all know the real title to book 6 right now?"
