Harry Potter book illustrator Mary GrandPré discusses
in an interview from December that she doesn't know anything about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and has not decided on a color for the cover. She also mentions that she would like to paint Hagrid in color and that her favorite book color is blue for Order of the Phoenix.
Thanks to Harry Latino

That's really cool. I really liked the cover on Order of the Phoenix. I hope Deathly Hollows has a good one, too.

Yeah, blue is really cute, It's my favorite color. But green in Harry Potter and the HAlf-Blood PRince is very cool in the eyes!!! I hope Deathly Hallows will not come in color yellow...

Grandpre is an amazing artist. Seriously. Her covers are the best HP covers in the world. But I'm biased, of course, since I'm from the US. Her art is absolutely breathtaking!!!

Oh so Mary GrandPré chooses the colors for the cover of the book. Hmm... she could have done better with her choices. At first when the first few books came out I thought she was gonna keep all the book covers different colors or the colors of the the houses in Hogwarts (but then again there wouldn't be enough houses for the amount of books) but then she repeated colors... Oh well.

Yeah blue is pretty. I didn't know that she decided the color, I always thought that it was J.K. Rowlings. I am guessing red or black!

I am so excited to see the next book cover and artwork. She has a very unique style. I think the next book would be a Charcoal colored book or maybe a Red book, but not bright red more of a darker brown red.

I think this cover will be very different to the other covers, more darker and duller. She has done a very good job with the others so far, i like HPOOTP the best so far!

I liked the green on HBP. Green gave a sinister depth to the story, without being too scary. The blue on OoTP was too intense for me.

Oh, I hope she doesn't paint Hagrid. I know he's a favorite to die, and I don't want people calling attention to him. Maybe if he keeps his head low JK will leave him be.
