British book chain, Waterstone’s, will be setting up a phone helpline
for fans to deal with the fact that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the last book in the series and that two characters are said to be killed off.
Back in June when Ms. Rowling appeared
on the 'Richard & Judy Show' in the UK and mentioned that "two more people have died than she originally planned and one other person has got a reprieve."
Debbie Williams of Waterstone's said:
This could be a similar moment to when Take That spilt up – there could be a lot of upset teenagers out there. We are looking to set up a helpline for them.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be published on July 21st.
Thanks to everyone who emailed.

This is a good way of making sure that no one has serious issues. I just hope that it isn't as bad as these people may make it sound. Yes, everyone will be sad to not have more HP to read, but I hope that most can cope with it.

I think it is a very good idea to set up a help line. Alot of HP fans will be very upset when they find out who will die. I cant wait for the book to come out.

Personally I don't think I'll go emo when people die but I still think it's a good idea!!! Both for people who are just upset as well as people who are really depressed about it!

Oh my gosh that is hilarious! Well I guess there are some really hardcore Harry Potter fans out there who would need this hotline. But it's still funny... I wonder which two characters are gonna be killed off. We're all just gonna have to wait and see until the amazing month of July.

Hope they are going to have it for all countries, not just the UK. There are people all over the world who might need the helpline too.

I know to some people this sounds really silly, but I can actually see how this could help. I sound so shallow but I did get really depressed over several elements in the book. I'm not sure how I'll react to the ending of the series, or god forbid, the death of my favorite character.

You are not serious. This has got to be a joke. I am so going to call just to see what they'll say to me.
'It's all right, dearie... Harry was just a book character... no need to wish to end your life and go join him... no need to burn your book and lead a pitchfork-bearing angry mob after JK Rowling...'

HAHAHA! That's just hilarious. I would be sad too but a helpline. I don't think it'd be that serious and traumatizing where people need help.

Whoa. That's a bit weird. Although I presonally don't think HP readers can really be that upset about those facts, maybe some are, so... Fine.

A helpline? To what? Help them deal with their grief?
Good grief.
The civilized world have become a bunch of pansies. I'm not against psychoanalysis or the promotion of mental health, but where does total psychobabble draw a line in the sand, anyway?

This is a pretty good idea. It seems a bit extreme to non-fans, I'd guess, but I think some people will make use of this.
But I'm reminded how very, very hard it is going to be to avoid spoilers this time around. I mean, if Harry dies, particularly, how will we be able to keep from hearing until we finish reading? Unless we are able to hole up somewhere to read until we're done (something I'm guessing jobs, school, and children may not allow, especially if we don't want to plow through and miss out on actually enjoying reading!) we are going to have some trouble.

Interesting, but a bit extreme, I would think.. although I personally wouldn't know because I haven't had to deal with the fact HP will be over yet since I haven't finished the last book yet. So who knows.

I'm sorry, but while I will be temporarily upset over some of the deaths in the book I'm sure, people need to get a grip-this characters don't actually exist!!!! It's just a powerful and entertaining story.
