British book chain, Waterstone’s, will be setting up a phone helpline
for fans to deal with the fact that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the last book in the series and that two characters are said to be killed off.
Back in June when Ms. Rowling appeared
on the 'Richard & Judy Show' in the UK and mentioned that "two more people have died than she originally planned and one other person has got a reprieve."
Debbie Williams of Waterstone's said:
This could be a similar moment to when Take That spilt up – there could be a lot of upset teenagers out there. We are looking to set up a helpline for them.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be published on July 21st.
Thanks to everyone who emailed.

Wow... sort of drastic, eh? I don't htink nessacerily that a helpline would really do much, seeing as you would have to be morally pathetic to truly disperse of any self-preservation under the circumstances of major deaths... even if it is THE BEST BOOK INT HE WORLD! regardless, i hope that it isnt harry, i myself will bbe mourning throughout the entire book; to think, it is only two additional deaths, perhaps there aer more but the others were planned? we know that the death of either voldy, harry, or both was inevitable; who could the other deaths be of?

Ok this is too much, way too much, it's just a fiction story (I mean it's unreal it's not happening in real life). I think there's no need for a helpline.

I'm a fan, but I don't think that I'm so involved that I need a help line to deal with the deaths.

I think it is a good idea. I can understand why some people might call it. DH will be sad, not just because of a death of a character but because it is the end of the series. people have to get over things in their own way , and if calling the line helps well good for them.

Oh well that's extremely depressing. I can see how that would be needed. I've grown up with this series. These books have gotten longer as I have become a better reader thoughout my schooling career.
It will be sad to see the series go and this though alone is enough to make me cry. If Harry does indeed die I will probally cry just because I know it's the end and not because I love Harry. No character can make me cry as much as I did when the character from Order died, my favorite character of the whole series. Sure, I might say that now but I'll have to wait and see.

Oh , my goodness...are the deaths to be THAT traumatic?? Or is this more for the depression that may follow the end of the series and not having any more Harry story to look forward to??
It reminds us all that there are so many very young Harry Potter fans, it's not all that silly to think some of the younger fans may have a difficult time adjusting to the final book. awwww..

OK, this is completely over the top. Ask somebody who has real problems what they think about people being so traumatised by HP (as much as I love it) and they'll give you an opinion that wouldn't be repeatable here!

I think this is a somewhat good idea. It's sort of an odd one, I would've never thought of it. I know there will be a lot of upset people when characters die, so this would probably really help some. I don't know if I'd use it, but I think it could come of good use to some.

I don't belive I actually just read that. If people cant deal with a character in a book dying, what hope do they have in the real world? Surely it cant be good for people to be so absorbed into this world of fantasy?

This is a funny idea but I believe it is unnecassary.
If Harry dies it is up to the reader to get over it.
It is just a book. I think they will be more depressed when they realize there are no longer nay more books.
I will be.

What is this world coming to? Harry Potter has made an impact on society and has changed the world in a postive way, but as far as needing help to come to terms with a book is a little far fetched and something that is being pushed down peoples throats to make them believe that they are not capable of handling the outcome or stress of literary fiction. How easily people can be led to believe that they are not capable of handling their own responces to situations is beyond me. Blessings! Hecate3fold!

I personally dont see why they need a helpline. if they truly needed one the ones that use it would need a little more professional help. im gonna be sad, im gonna cry when i finish the book. but you've got to realise that there's still more movies to come, and when they end, then were gonna need a hotline
